I thought De Bruyne was excellent yesterday, he won back possession numerous times tracking back and getting tackles in, looked really confident too.

A decent start to his City career.

For a man who'd had all of 2 days with his team mates, and who was chucked in for his debut in the Premier League's no.1 bearpit, I thought he was outstanding. Nothing flash, but excellent vision, passing and ball retention. Promising stuff

I said after his 2nd game for Belgium, that id seen him twice, first game he looked good and second looked a plodder, ive seen him playing for city, this lad has got great vision,he looks like he doesn't even have to think about it,that shows he has a great football brain, his vision is right up there, only seen that clip above and match of the day playing for city, but my word(wilkins) we could have a right player there.

He's been likened to Gerrard but I think he's more reminiscent of Beckham. He's faster than Beckham but has an unerring ability to make a quick one touch pass without dwelling on the ball that the opposition find difficult to contain because of it's swiftness. An excellent, promising debut where he performed on the pitch a lot earlier than was expected.

That's what he's all about : he lets the ball to the job and always tries to play forward as quickly as possible. At Wolfsburg he gave tons of assists like the one for Navas : on the break, he finds space left or right and can play the ball with his left or right foot. Sterling and Aguero will love him.

On the same football wavelength as Silva/Touré/Nasri, already looks better than with the Belgium national team.

He had a decent game by his standards yesterday considering the circumstances. You could see he was playing it safe most of the time, but you got glimpses of the threat he can pose with his vision and directness. His link-up with the other players was almost impeccable considering he has only had 2 trainings and had to come into an unusual situation with 2 (or even 3) key players missing. I think the most important thing is that you can see that once he settles in (and I expect that to be sooner rather than later) and gets more confident to try things he will be great. What are the chances he will start on tuesday?

Just for a quick comparison that shot that KDB had at the back end of the first half, could anyone imagine Navas hitting the ball that hard?
I got to see plenty enough of Navas' shooting ability to suffice me for quite some time yesterday.

Was a fair bit quicker that I expected yesterday, maybe over 40/50 yards he's not a speedster but certainly he is sharp over the first few yards.

And I know I may be getting carried away but that first time ball to Navas was brilliant, it seemed to defy physics - I've watched it a few times and it doesn't seem possible to get the pace and bend on the ball with so little back lift when hitting it first time. Should have been his first assist.
