Player Topic: Navas.....

It's obvious that he needs to add goals to his game but he's had a good season otherwise, great workmate, pace, attitude, retention of the ball. One of my PotS.

I'm in agreement. He has really suffered by the loss of Silva and poor full back support this season. It always looked as though his instructions were to just find Silva, and when DS wasn't there he had no one of quality to pass to. Once he decided, or was instructed, to start running into the central areas of midfield he looked more effective. It will be interesting to see how Pep uses him, if he does.

I would expect the attributes mentioned above from any player who makes a living from the game. We are at a level now where just trying hard is simply not good enough. I will never question his attitude or commitment to the cause but he severely lacks the quality and decision making to be a top class forward player. I would suspect that if he wasn't quick he would be a bottom half La Liga player.

We've all been saying he needs to add goals and crossing to his game, from Day One. It's not going to happen at this stage of his career. He is what he is. A decent speedy player who works hard but lacks any goal threat and who is only going to get slower.

He's not a bad player and would do a decent job in a lot of teams but truly great teams need a number of goal threats.

Can't see any place for him next season and believe he will be high in the list of those to let go while he still has some value.

I wish him well but it's time to move on.

After every team in the world wanting him for so many years once he finally left Sevilla it turned out he wasnt quite the world beater he looked like when he played there

Simply not good enough. works incredibly hard, but unfortunately his quality in the final third is poor and he isn't going to suddenly get better.

Yea. It's very hard to judge how a player is going to translate into a very different league. While Navas was a decent enough buy, others haven't. They'll all go back to looking great in slower, less physical leagues.

I'll be gutted if I ever see him in a city shirt again. Admirable player but far, far below the required standard. Its criminal how he has become an integral part of the team, when he fits the profile of an impact sub.

Could easily have had two assists, but Aguero and Iheanacho both missed good chances.
Arguably our most disciplined midfielder yesterday, so I wouldn't be too sure that Pep won't find a place for him.

Strange player in that he has the ability to go past a player with his blistering pace all over the pitch except for the final third where he seemingly loses a yard and his final ball/shot is often sadly lacking.

Works his arse of for the side and i like his attitude but ultimately he isnt a top drawer player and he isnt good enough.
