Player Topic: Navas.....

Yea. It's very hard to judge how a player is going to translate into a very different league. While Navas was a decent enough buy, others haven't. They'll all go back to looking great in slower, less physical leagues.
If he went to Italy or back to Spain now he would probably look better than he did before thanks to his time here

I like Navas and hope he stays. If he does, it'll be interesting to see what Guardiola can get out of him. He used to score a few for Sevilla (5 or 6 a season I think) so it's not like he's never been capable of scoring.

cant score and his final ball is sometimes lacking but showed more work-rate, effort and commitment on the pitch than most of the team put together this season....If we can bring in players over the summer, with that same effort and commitment we'll be top of the prem again.....

I'll be gutted if I ever see him in a city shirt again. Admirable player but far, far below the required standard. Its criminal how he has become an integral part of the team, when he fits the profile of an impact sub.
I think his work attitude was good .his talents were limited but he tried his best .his talents and inability to score always held him back. But his attitude was always good .never saw him strolling around the pitch lost like yaya sometimes did in his last season .I have always felt that apart from stars , a team needs a few players who maybe technically limited but have a good attitude .they never create media stories , just come to practice , work their socks off and deliver on match day whatever they can . they don't lock horns with the boss if they are on bench .the guys wages are also 80k or something I believe . if we want him to be our right winger in first team , we know he just isn't good enuf ,he has his technical limitations .but as a backup for right wing position , he seems perfect .if pep can persuade him to stay in a backup or rotation role , it will be a welcome depth .

navas,silva,sterling,kdb will stay.

i think nasri is off.
I hope not. Have you seen Nasri's pass completion and dribbling completion stats? They are way above any of the other players you mention. Certainly not a player to ditch in pre-season. I think Navas will be a good squad player. One to bring on in last quarter of game against a tired defence.

Strange player in that he has the ability to go past a player with his blistering pace all over the pitch except for the final third where he seemingly loses a yard and his final ball/shot is often sadly lacking.

Works his arse of for the side and i like his attitude but ultimately he isnt a top drawer player and he isnt good enough.

His problem is in his head I believe, he has a mental block when it comes to the pressure situations (final ball), and this would also explain his inability to score as well since his first season.

It shouldn't be that much of a surprise as he has a history of mental limitations affecting his football career, and as with any impairment it should be considered and worked around, and my solution is that he goes back to Spain (Sevilla) where he is most comfortable and can play to his maximum level again.
