Player Topic: Navas.....

Would be good to see the wide men swap sides every so often. Navas seems to be chained to a 3 meter strip on the right hand side of the pitch. More chance of a shot cutting in from the left. Switch things when plan 'A' is not working.

Just like Mancini turned Kompany into a world class centre back?

Hope so, Navas is full of speed and I rate his defensive contribution more than his offensive abilities. His shooting his abysmal but he tracks his runners to death (more like Milner, I know right ?). I see an issue with his small size but his speed is more than enough to cover up for it. He is a true hustler in my opinion.

I like his effort. He plays hard and that's more than most on our pitch these days. With possession he's So desperately One footed....
Ironic that his best asset is defensive
And Kolorovs is offense
Players in the box could help his assists though
Substitute player at best

remember the confed's cup the summer we bought him, he looked great.....but upon being able to watch him now for a few years he doesn't really give us much just pace but no ability to actually take anyone on or score

hopefully he will be replaced but have a feeling it wont be this summer

I'm sure Pep will bring at least 20% improvement out of all the playing staff.

Not sure whether Navas will survive the cut though.

However a quick crap player is better than a slow crap player.

I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I rate navas. He tries most of the time, his passing is usually of a good standard, when defending he does appear to attempt to track back and put pressure on the opponent (which is a lot more than most this season) and he's happy to play a bit part.
If he was sold who would we make 'life of Brian' jokes about?

The stuff your praising him for surely barker or Roberts could do and they couldn't possible be worst at shooting or crossing than him?

Guardiola will be thinking along those lines too

Navas for me does the job now as good as anyone, but obviously that's because pellers is stagnant with his squad.

Personally if we shifted sterling I think he'd do a better job aswell

Yeah, I agree. Sterling needs to be forced out of his comfort zone, anyway. Like the whole squad, Navas included. Navas could be used in a few positions, but again its Pellegrini's lack of ideas that limit him. You may not believe this but I'm not a 'sack Pellegrini!' person. But I honestly don't think he sends the players out onto the field with a plan. Im sure we all thought Pellerbrini's aloofness was just for the media. But I think it's him. He doesn't say anything to the media, and I now doubt he says anything to the players.
Anyway back to the positives- there are a some great opportunities for the players to develop next season, namely prepare them, challenge them etc,
I just can't wait

I was a sack pellers person I don't care anymore the damage is already done in the league so its pointless and there isn't really much to get excited about tbh with our form

You 'don't care anymore', Sad that init?
I must admit I feel let down by city at the moment. And I'm in two minds whether to go tomorrow or not, I didn't get champs league with my season t, but happen to be off work, and for the first time (ever) I am not rushing to buy a ticket.

I mean I don't care about him being sacked anymore I mean hopefully we don't go out of the top 4 but even that's in doubt right now.

Interestingly, the half time positional graph on the feed I was watching showed that Jesus was further forward in the opponents half during the half than Kun and that other striker, what's his name? Begins with B I think?

has nothing to do with his average position on the pitch...its what he does (or doesn't do to be more precise) when he is in those positions .......when there he delivers very little.....he won't take defenders on...usually opting to turn back inside and play the bak back either to the edge of the area (where the player receiving the ball is often confronted with at least 6-7 defenders infront of him

or

he hits his cross into the defenders legs

for the amount of possession he gets and opportunities he has he produces very few chances.......

Im convinced he actually aims at the fullback, how can someone fail so many times?

He will get player of the year if he has actually been aiming at the legs as he has hit them nearly 100% of the time ;)
