Well yeah thanks. Really wish Jesus would started pulling his own weight.Sergio is that you? Great hat trick yesterday mate
It's not just Sergio.... Yaya will only pass to him as the very last resort, often he will turn inside and take on defenders rather than lay a ball out to Navas.... I guess he knows what the outcome will be as a result of setting Navas up to cross...Has anyone noticed how Sergio doesn't want to give him the ball?
Happens regularly & it's out of order in my opinion...
Doesn't matter if anyone's there or not... either way the ball never gets to anywhere near where it should be.The amount of times nobody is in the box for him to cross to does my nut in!
I'm under the age of 35 though so what the hell do I know.
Wingers that play consistently for elite clubs should be providing 10 goals and 10 assists minimum. Now I don't know his stats but I can't imagine he's even hit 5 goals or assists
Edit. Just checked his player profile he has made 45 appearances in all competitions this season providing 6 assists and zero goals. That is quite frankly terrible especially playing in such an attacking side. If we managed to get someone like Bale or Costa they'd add an extra 20 goals to the team
Well said pal.A withering assessment of a very good player. You may find him frustrating but i, and more importantly MP, see him as a very valuable team player.
Don't know about you guys but he's probably the one player who has me screaming at the TV more than anyone else.
My intense frustration is that unlike certain other players who I won't mention, he most certainly is NOT useless. Pace, check. Skill, check. Work rate, check. Attitde, check. Willingness to get back and defend, check. He does so much right and really helps stretch play.
He's got everything in the kitbag to be a really top drawer wing player.. well, almost everything. He has the footballing brain of a two year old, i.e. not a fucking clue. When it comes to decision-making, he is absolutely fucking inept.
He'll cut back inside when the obvious play is to run on and get to the by line. He'll try and pick out crosses that will come off once in a millenium. He'll dick about in front of goal instead of shooting, or he'll try and blast a shot into row z with no composure whatsoever. Take yesterday for example. Nasri, through on goal, prods the ball goal-wards, the keeper spills it and it falls to Navas who - faced with a keeper out of position, a 10ft barn door of goalmouth yawning and no defenders in sight - decides to arse about for precious seconds and then pass the ball to someone else. Just shoot, FFS.
So the big question is, can he be coached into becoming the player we all want him to be? Or is this just the way he is, destined to be always someone who promises so much but never really delivers?
Well said pal.
