Was everywhere at the back whilst the rest of them went AWOL

AWOL? Otamendi had a very good game but suggesting the rest went missing and the defence was held together single handedly by him is wrong. if you want to be critical, I know we should of had a freekick earlier but Otamendi was at fault for their goal, was caught out following the ball rather than the man. Mangala was almost caught out and had the ball robbed off him early second half in the corner but those are literally the only two errors any of the back 4 made for the entire game.

Hull barely threatened, but when they did, every man in the back 4 did their job. Otamendi made some excellent 1 v 1 challenges, Mangala used his pace to do some excellent covering work for both Clichy and Otamendi throughout the game, Clichy made a crucial headed clearance at 1-0 when it looked as though they were going to score and Sagna was solid all night.

I was a bit meh after his first few games for us, you could tell the talent was there but he was getting his positioning disastrously wrong 2/3 times a games.

Now he's settles he looks like the boss, no nonsense tackling, wins most aerial battles against bigger opposition and his reading of the game and covering are real top class. He's playing with a real swagger of a top player too now. Love the bloke.

Losing count of how many times he's been my MOTM, simply outstanding, and from a personal point of view, more importantly, he's a very entertaining defender.

Stunning performance. Some impeccably timed tackles when hull were starting to threaten. Battling it out all over the show but reading the game well and consistently coming out on top

People worry about his height at times, but when the opposition breaks and players are running at him 1 on 1 like they did today too frequently, when you're potentially in the shit basically, I thought his slightly smaller stature helped as he's lower to ground level and can adjust to get down and win the ball easier. Don't get me wrong we all like commanding centre halves in the english football and Vinnie is exactly that but I think a lot of bigger defenders would have struggled when put in the situations Otamendi found himself in tonight, hence why the club were probably so keen to pair him with Vinnie

It was a brilliant performance and he carried us through that for a bit at 1 nil tonight. Looking like a great signing so far

I'm already going as far to say he's the best centre half i've ever seen play for us, after just four months! Imagine what he'll be like when he really settles in
