How many times did you watch Firmino for either Hoffenheim or Liverpool, honestly?
Fermino has been dog shit this season. He got the lift of a lifetime when we allowed him time and space plus we decided to mark him with Bambi and a 36yr old who hasn't played for ages.

Well where we're the comparisons before today? In the transfer window?

Yes. Plenty of them too

I've kept it to Sterling in here until now. But tonight him and Firmino were on the same pitch and only one of them looked genuinely talented so it's relevant to bring Firmino back up.

I was worried the moment that people could only describe Sterling as 'young' and 'English' as reasons to sign him above Firmino.

Absolutely laughable. Sky TV and the likes have played a blinder, sadly Pellegrini/Txiki bought it too.

its completely true, no one would have firmino over sterling, its just a load of angry fans overreacting again on here.

Here's just three. There's plenty more.

The point is in my opinion (and this is a discussion forum after all) Sterling shouldn't be a priority target because he's a bang average player with a poor mental attitude.

Who we should be after to fill a quota? My opinion but not one single English footballer is good enough to be in any of the world's best sides.

If Sterling was a random French footballer playing his football for a comparable side to Liverpool (Lyon?) In ligue 1 I very much doubt we'd be bidding anything higher than 15m for his signature. On the contrary, if Firmino was an Englishman he'd be the best player since sliced bread (who was a very good player btw, really versatile).

Can't believe we would rather pay 50m for Sterling than 25m for Firmino, makes no sense

Liverpool fan here.

I think youre finding out what we were telling you when you bought him but were dismissed for being bitter.

Sterling obviously has potential but he is lacking a lot and nowhere near a finished article which makes the £50 million seem crazy.

His problems we mentioned are the same as what you fans are also now saying - final ball, crossing, finishing, shooting. He looks good on the ball, he dribbles around, but the end product is suspect.

The example that is often used was his performance for England vs Italy in the world cup, he looks dangerous on the ball, but didnt actually do anything in the game, if that makes sense.
