The lad has an alarming lack of technical ability. He's quick and has decent balance, but he can't pass, cross, create, shoot. He's bad at anything that involves the ball.

There's form, confidence and just plain technique. He shoots with his ankle.

There's lads in the EDS with far more technical ability than him.

Hate to say it but it's true.

That was awful. You would think he'd be itching all game to come on and then he does and finishes like that.

Other than a bit of pace, what does he actually offer that any bog standard Premier League winger (Zaha, Albrighton, Moses etc) can't do? The fact that Barker can whip in a good cross and shoot with power with both feet pretty much puts him ahead of Sterling in my opinion.

Hate to say it but it's true.

Agree 100%. He has some good movement off the ball, he's quick and he definitely helps other players around him. However, his technical ability is poor and he's just not suited to our style of play. At Liverpool he would rarely have gone up against teams that put so many men behind the ball and he could take advantage of their more direct style. With us he just gives the ball away time and time again when we should be playing keep ball with intricate control and passing. When you compare his footballing ability with almost every other player in our squad he is woefully lacking and he just doesn't fit in. He'll have his moments because he's a good player but he isn't for us.
