Thought he played well last night, especially in the first half. However, the one thing that frustrates me about him is that he slightly slows down as he approaches the defender who is facing him in the box. Whether this is because he doesn't think he'll get the penalty if fouled, or is wary about losing possession, I don't know, but it's his speed which absolutely terrifies defenders, so I hope he just shakes those hips and blasts right past them.

There are areas he needs to improve on, of course. BUT had aguero have put that away last night (and I still have no idea what he was doing) then sterling would have got 1 goal, 2 assists, and a major part in another goal.

Not a bad contribution for a 20 year old who isn't at his best......

Personally thought he started well, got his assist and took his goal well. Could have had 2 but was unlucky in hitting the post.

After that though...completely wasteful. De Bruyne looked pissed off with him at times. Failed to beat his man time after time and regularly conceded possession in good areas.

@Neville Kneville I'm not looking to start an argument after a superb result mate but that was my assessment of his performance. I'm just curious to see if yours is any different?

He is a constant menace to the opposition. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn't, but as we have seen ourselves from his Liverpool days, he is murder to play against & constantly unsettles the defenders. Also he keeps getting back into position & working for the team.

Absolutely one of the top handful of players in the league imo.

I think Aguero was trying to embarrass Sebastian Coates by sitting him on his pants. After all, a few moments earlier Coates had given him a good old-fasioned Uruguayan kick off the ball.

Exactly - his ball over for the Aguero miss was brilliant. And he was a continual outlet for us throughout the whole game, while almost always absorbing 3 or 4 opponents. And I've already said before, you can see that he is learning from SIlva with some of his reverse balls , so he'll only get better. Great stuff!

A definite upgrade to our side.... adds pace/youth which we are lacking... but, at the same time, exasperating in his control/finishing/passing at times. All-in-all though, I like his addition to our side. And if his form slips too much I'd expect to see Nasri on (and Nasri could use the pressure - world class at his best, but like Sterling, inconceivably frustrating at times).
