Sunday League mentality - yeh that'll work - NOT!

so what do we do then? go on this'll be good.

since time began footballers have carried out revenge tackles. AT ANY LEVEL.

Vinny did it against Swansea and the hacking stopped, Everton toned down the physicality once Fernando and Mangala had left a few of them on their backsides. Anyone who's played the game at any level knows that if one of your teammates is getting kicked about or bullied, the best way to stop it is to leave the **** doing it on the ground.

The problem with giving it back is that we get yellows and reds for the slightest touch.

Re: Sergio Aguero

If you seriously believe that revenge tactics is the best approach then you're living in the dark ages. What goes round comes round. Look at the penalty we didn't get at Southampton, and the one we got a home to Eveton - that's karma. The same goes for bad tackles.

I agree. We are a better club than that. We don't want to regress to where the sport was 20 years ago

I don't agree with revenge tackles, more stamping your authority and strength over the other team. But the bit in bold is bollocks; it's akin to "these things even themselves out over the season" nonsense. Why? Because decisions for and against don't happen in tit for tat. One decision may cost points, another might give us a fifth goal.

Not forgetting to mention that both were nailed on penalties against Southampton and Everton.

nobody does but if we aren't going to get protection from the ref we have to tidy it up ourselves. we can't have some 2 bit thug at Everton putting our stars out of the game for weeks on end. what's he worth like 500k, our asset is worth 90m. needs looking after.

Re: Sergio Aguero

I'm with the old school on this, as has been said, the blue dippers soon wound their necks in when they got some treatment... Worth a few yellows and the odd red to send the message out..!

Tidy it up ourselves? Fook me you sound like a character out of a Tarantino film. Wake up and smell the coffee - this is professional football we are talking about, not some 2 bob game down the local rec on a Sunday morning!

Send the message out? Have you been watching Goodfellas and The Godfather recently? Wise up for fooks sake.

It may be pro football but it still happens. Take a look at the swamp and tell me that the £28 million flop that is Fellaini does not employ Sunday league tactics, but he does not try it on with Ya Ya . Maybe its because he respects him or maybe he fears the reprisal that would come his way.

Your view of the game seems a tad naive.

Serious question....have you ever actually played the game at anything like a competitive level ?
