Thank God it's not as bad as feared. Shouldn't have started today.
Why not?Thank God it's not as bad as feared. Shouldn't have started today.
Of course he should have. Why not?
Absolutely, i can't imagine any reason why he thought Aguero should not of played.Of course he should have.
You play your best team if they are fit and not tired.
i would of thought that its just an impact injury, albeit a bloody painful one
the medical team wouldn't have let him walk out of selhurst if it was any more serious than that
fit enough for tuesday? well that's another question
italian team not putting the boot in, chellini?
think i would keep him under wraps
I'm going to quote what my youngest sister says in situations like this...Thank God it's not as bad as feared. Shouldn't have started today.

Next game is against Juve in three days. Why not?
I can see where you are coming from, however you have to remember that our two main competitions are the Premier League and the Champions League both have equal importance and we can't take chances by resting our best players needlesslyNext game is against Juve in three days.
Kun just got back from international game.
Bony was fresh.
How about because he only traveled back from international duty the day before the match...? Look at the other guys for Argentina, Messi & Lavezzi both didn't start/play for their respective clubs.Absolutely, i can't imagine any reason why he thought Aguero should not of played.

Pretty legit reason in my opinion. No need to risk a tired injury prone player when we have a good backup, following Barca's lead & bringing him on if needed for me would have been a reasonable thing to do.
Pellegrini seems a little eager to play him when all the time, even if it might not be a good choice. If he is still feeling it tomorrow he simply shouldn't start. Bony will do the job.
Feel free to tell me who could have played in his place. I'll give you Aguero's --> Bony. Fernando wasn't in the team, Delph injured, so who's taking his spot?
He's our best player and we were away from home to the team second in the league?Feel free to tell me who could have played in his place. I'll give you Aguero's --> Bony. Fernando wasn't in the team, Delph injured, so who's taking his spot?
I get your point, my original team line up was Delph in place for Fernandinho (I believe I posted this on here actually as a team prediction) before he pulled his hammy of course. But it's pretty obvious why Dinho played, whereas less obvious why Aguero played (also forced us into a change of formation by doing so).
Just to clarify I'm not against him starting, I was just defending whoever said Aguero shouldn't have as everyone jumped on him like he's an idiot - yet for me there is a perfectly good reason for why he might not have started. He's our best player and we were away from home to the team second in the league?
You can't account for injuries anyway but it's not like he pulled a muscle, he got purposely kicked in the knee. Where would that be on a risk assessment?
But Bony wasn't freash at all, he's been out injured for three or so weeksNext game is against Juve in three days.

"Fresh" in context ...like jetlag fresh or fresh like not fit due to injury? But Bony wasn't freash at all, he's been out injured for three or so weeks
If he didnt play aguero and we failed to win Pellegrini would have been lambasted with abuse. Couldnt win both ways. Plus the internationals didnt have any effect on his injury it was just a nasty challenge, could happen in any game."Fresh" in context ...like jetlag fresh or fresh like not fit due to injury?
I think Kun was bit jetlagged and we all are aware of his injury history.
Messi din't play because he din't train with Barcelona as he was with his kid. Lavezzi din't play because Di Maria played. How about because he only traveled back from international duty the day before the match...?
