How about because he only traveled back from international duty the day before the match...? Look at the other guys for Argentina, Messi & Lavezzi both didn't start/play for their respective clubs.Absolutely, i can't imagine any reason why he thought Aguero should not of played.
Pretty legit reason in my opinion. No need to risk a tired injury prone player when we have a good backup, following Barca's lead & bringing him on if needed for me would have been a reasonable thing to do.
Pellegrini seems a little eager to play him all the time, even if it might not be a good choice. If he is still feeling it tomorrow he simply shouldn't start. Bony will do the job.
