The way I see the kompany situation is simple. Belgium pay his wages and they don't want to risk him getting injured playing for us. He would be stupid to go against his paymasters wishes. Imagine if the situation was reversed and he got injured playing for Belgium we would be really pissed off.

if say with 6 games to go and we are right in the mix for the title, kompany gets a slight hamstring/groin twinge thats still playable but runs the risk of missing the euros, reckon he would play on regardless or rest up??

When as a club we publicly ask him not to play for his country due to injury, he then he not only plays but comes out in the press and basically takes the piss out of Pellegrini and ultimately City for having the audacity to ask him not to play.

The manager and officials were far too lenient with regard to the captain, he should have been hammered for his contempt of Pellegrini and Manchester City Football Club.

Unfortunately I too am starting to lose patience with Vinny. His recent shenanigans with club vs country just isn't acceptable, injuries are far too frequent and seem to last months at a time.

I completely understand that he is our club captain, one of the best defenders in world football and pivotal to our recent success. However there has to come a time when the manager assesses his injury record and just says, 'Look Vinny, I just can't keep you as my guaranteed centre half starter any more'. Is it time to find a new, young partnership that can play every game together? We need stability, and to stop chopping and changing the defence to accommodate Kompany going in and out of the line-up.

Vinny is our leader, but there's not much 'leading' you can do sat in the stands for 70% of the season unfortunately.

It is time to take the Captaincy off Vincent Kompany and give it to Joe Hart. Joe plays for the team and if you watch tunnel cam it is Joe who bolsters the team on when they are leaving the tunnel to take to the pitch and if you watch Joe on the pitch he is always encouraging and shouting at them.

It's funny, I recall him playing with the toe cut off his boot because of a broken toe in his early days here, with cortisone injections to get him through.

And unless he is very careful he will lose the support of the fans. This season is a watershed for him IMO, he got a pass last time out but he now needs to get his priorities straight.
