Not been this excited over a new signing for a while, can't wait to see him scoring goals for city. Does anybody know the earliest/latest case scenario him and Yaya will be back from ACON?

AFAIK, earliest is 7th/8th February, latest about 2 weeks later.

The final is the 8th Feb, really compact tournament this time around. hopefully back in training circa 10th Feb at the latest.

This signing is a strange one for me. Seems like a panic buy.

Also it seems youth players are never going to get an opportunity.

Yep, Ambrose and Celina were crying into their cornflakes this morning.

10 points to the first Bluemooner who comes up with a Rivers of Babylon inspired song for Bony.

Re: Bony signs - official

I know I said this a few times before but WELCOME ABOARD BONY!

Striker Wilfried Bony has said he spoke with Ivory Coast and now Manchester City team-mate Yaya Toure before the move.

"The Premier League is a tough league. My power is to always be in the box and in the right position. I'm always working hard to be there to score the goals and to improve," he told Manchester City's official website.

"I speak with Yaya every day on international duty and I think he will help me to become a better player and a more clinical striker. I'll be playing with great players here at City and this is an opportunity for me to work hard and to take my chance."

What do these 'points' do?

Personally I couldn't care less if the players came through the academy or were bought in. Academy players will no doubt get an opportunity when the manager feels they are ready.

Bony is ready and a very good signing.
