I think an interchangeable 4-5-1? - with Sergio playing essentially as the extra midfielder running at Pique and Mascherano from deep.

Bony MUST start and he has enough to keep both central defenders occupied. His hold up play and return passes for Aguero and Silva will be pivotal.

Completely agree only difference I see is pelle seemed to prefer Dave and Samir on the oposite flanks last year when Álvaro and Kun were up top.

Very shrewd bit of business, he's the calibre of player that could tip the title race in our favour and certainly helps cancel out the Fabregas/Costa purchases from Chelsea.

I hope Pelli works on set-pieces more now we have someone who is so powerful in the air. We seem to win 5 - 10 corners/set-pieces every game yet we seldom score from them. Part of that is down to the crossing (I don't understand why we continue to play out-swingers when it is clear as day they aren't working) but surely Bony will pose a huge threat.

Also, as much as I like him I don't think Jovetic is prolific enough for the level we are striving to achieve. I know he has suffered injuries, but he's 25 now, in football terms that isn't all that young. I've been impressed with some of his link up play and work rate this season, and without him we probably wouldn't have won that Bayern game at home, but in terms of being a striker we can rely on to score I don't think he's going to make it at the very top level. Maybe this transfer will see him look elsewhere, although I'd like to see him stay as a decent backup striker.

This signing is a strange one for me. Seems like a panic buy.

Also it seems youth players are never going to get an opportunity.

He is already our second best striker, that is no panic buy. Also the 2 closest youth strikers to our first team are ambrose and ihanacho if he eventually signs officially and 1 just isn't ready yet having only just been promoted to the eds and the other is injured until March.
With the constant rumours that edin and jovetic will leave in the summer and lacazette possibly due to arrive that may leave a space for youth strikers if they are ready next year.

BUT it's 4-2-3-1 with Aguero playing deeper role instead of 2 strikers high up.

We have just signed a striker who has been the most consistent goalscorer in the hardest league in the world , at £25m it is a steal , he is 26 in his prime , and built like a brick sh*thouse , so is injury record is exemplary , a definite starter alongside kun , with dzeko coming off the bench , its great being a city supporter
