We have bought him, but are we going to play him? Bony's signing spells the end of Jovetic but it has brought us nothing because we haven't played him.

Bloody hell Marvin stop being so negative mate!

Okay very early indications aren't great but as you say he hasn't actually started a match yet so lets give him a bit of time.

I would disagree about him not giving us anything. If nothing else he has given Dzeko a kick up the arse and got him playing
in the same way Negredo did last season. If the players on the bench push the players on the pitch they are making a contribution.
That's a very expensive kick up the arse.
Like on other threads of shit recent signings What do people expect from Bony?, Not suprised by Bonys performances when introduced as he's quite limited as a player he's not going to make clever passes or take on a few players he's not quick either or technically gifted, he's just someone with a big arse that scored a few goals at Swansea and just another poor recruitment to add to the growing list by Txixi.

He's not even played a game ffs

Unbelievable isn't it?

Technically he is no Aguero but in this league he will score goals as he has proved at Swansea. Maybe he isn't going to be the man
to win us the CL but lets give him a chance before we write him off and not get on his back just to get at Txiki and Pellegrini.
The lad deserves that off us.

I'm not having a go at Bony as such but we keep spending lots of money on players who are not world class and it all adds up financially. Look at all the signings we've made in the last 18 months 2 years it's a shitload of money spent and none of them are even approaching world class. You'd have thought we'd have learnt after our poor defence of the title in 2013 but it just seems to keep happening.

Poor lad's been thrown in to some dire situations against Barca and Liverpool, we were starved of the ball when he came on in both. Granted against Newcastle he should have scored.

Give him time.

I have a feeling we will be talking about him in jest for a long time similar to the "is Jo cup tied" instead it will be has Bony scored yet.

The reason why he didn't start is probably because he's getting used to our players and our system, think about all the lot of big games we've played recently.

Dzeko knows our players throughout, how Nasri plays 1-2's, how Silva floats around etc.

Starting Bony who's only having a basic knowledge of those things (Because of the short amount of time he's actually been at the club) would be suicidal.

Having said that i think he's going to start games from now on.

You idiots do realize that at best he will have had 8 training sessions with a whole new team? Un fucking believable!

Agree. too many self entitled knobs expecting immediate results. Wonder where they were when we were shit

Laughable. Had about 15 minutes in total so far?

A top, top player.

Hope he plays on Wednesday and scores a hat-trick.

I have no doubt he will become just as pivotal as Aguero when he gets up to speed.

I rate him that highly.
You are joking?

Why am I joking, I consider his talents make one of the best strikers in Europe and we will thankfully reap the benefits of that in the years to come.

He was absolutely the perfect signing for this present City set-up and one I had been hoping might be realised for quite a while.

Played as a lone striker or with a support striker behind him, he could be as effective as he was in Swansea. He's had what maybe 60 min of total play? The few who already started raising doubts at this at this point are a joke. Give it time and come back to it.

I hope he starts in the Leicester game and our manager thinks long and hard about what tactics he'll use in this match, last thing we need is another Hull style match.

I rate him as well which is why it's a mystery to me why he has not gone straight into the team

As it is we're making him look bad, and I bet his confidence is already affected somewhat/

When we signed him I thought Aguero and Bony together would be ideal and this was going to give us the impetus to take over from Chelsea. But no we have squandered the opportunity and unbelievably it's now March and we're still waiting for Bony to make his first start

If we carry on like this we will be reducing Bony's confidence to zero, and we'll have another Scott Sinclair on our hamds

he has to start for me, he's had his few bedding in sub appearances now, time to see how he goes from the start
edin will give way i'm sure

I think Bony is a good player but my issue is that his signing seems to indicate that we are planning for 4-4-2 for the foreseeable future. That's more worrying that one player being on form or not.

Would we really have bought him if we plan on switching to one up top? I know he's great at playing as the lone striker but with Aguero in the side I can only see Bony having a bit part should we change formation and that's even if we do sell Dzeko in the summer.

To be honest I just feel sorry for the guy.

He's eager to impress us but he has been given some shit situations to play in. We were completely useless against Barca & Liverpool when he came on and against Newcastle the game was over and Silva and Aguero had been taken off.

He should start on Wednesday. It's the logical thing to do. Whether that happens remains to be seen

The slagging off of Bony on here is not only believable, but was to be expected if he didn't score a hat trick in every match since arriving at the club.
No doubt those 'fans' who are already on his back also contributed to the 'song for Bony' thread before he'd even kicked a fucking ball.
