World class header yesterday, a great character our Bony, can't wait to see him score many, many more.

To be fair I have made my view over all the games I have seen him perform in.

Some players have it and some don't to be world class.
Others will be great professionals but not get the recognition that they should have had over their careers.
Some will be lucky enough to be at the right club at the right time and end a career with a hoard of medals even though they were a squad player at best.
Then there are those that get hyped up so much by the media that clubs and fans buy into it even though they aren't anywhere near that level.

All of the above will bring a wide variety of views. You will have those that find only the good in a poor performance and visa versa those that can only see the bad. This is the beauty of forums it opens up discussions.

Though I now am not sure if you are a WUM "I think he's better than Rooney, Giroud" - Really is that overall or just on current performances.

You are completely over simplifying things with this post. A player that is happy to come off the bench and do a job is a crucial part of a squad. A successful squad is a sum of all of its parts. Someone like Tevez was a great asset if he's adored and starts every game. When he's on the bench he's grumpy and disruptive and isn't someone you want in your squad. So is he a great player or not?! Of course he is, but he has to be in an environment where he's played regularly or he'll not do the job you need.

Looking at the past three seasons (when Bony and Giroud have been in the Prem - and looking at Rooney over this period)
Giroud's best return is 22gls in 51 games in 2013/14
Rooney's best is 19gls in 40 games in 13/14
Bony's best is 25gls in 48games in 13/14

Those are in all comps. Bony was at Swansea... and had scored 9 in 22 games last season before the ACON and his transfer... Rooney managed 14 goals in 37 games last season. Despite moving to us and only scoring twice he managed 11goals in 34 games overall which isn't far off Rooney... Giroud managed 19gls in 36 games. He's Arsenal's main striking option.

Considering injuries, illness and loss of form it's a strong argument to suggest Bony is the best second striker in comparison to our rivals. His 25goals in 48 games for Swansea is an incredible return. When he gets his scoring form back he'll definitely score regularly for us. People die from Malaria. It completely shuts the body down. He's had to work extremely hard to get back to full fitness and he's no doubt feeling the pressure in terms of scoring. Those missed chances will play on his mind. He's probably not going to be world class or world renowned but he's 27 in December with his best years ahead of him.

It's great to have a player as good as him as a 'reserve'. I bet Chelsea would swap him for Falcao or Remy.

One of the problems is Bony is a completely different type of player than Aguero so can't just slot in. We are still learning how to adjust the system to take advantage of his strengths when he plays. I'm sure we have yet to see the best of him.

No he was rubbish in all. Who cares about goals, all we care about is him missing some chances, I love it when he misses chances, it means I can slag him on the net.

I would like to ask yourself and Ricster et al this.

Why are you so desperate to be right? Why are you so pleased when he has a poor game? So desperate for him to fail? Not even willing to give him 10 PL starts before calling him a 'fat lump'?
Why would a City fan not want to give a clearly talented player time to adjust, recover from family bereavement, recover his form, recover from a life threatening illness? Why so desperate to write him off?

I personally hope Bony becomes a World beater, scores plenty of goals and City win many trophies. I really hope the lad becomes a star.
I hope for these things because we as fans, the club our City will benefit. This is why I'm desperate for him to be a success. I'm more incline to defend our players as I personally want to see them, our club do well. I'm not interested in vindicating my opinion.

Do I think Bony will win the Ballon D'or? Most likely not. Am I prepared to give him a full season to prove himself, most certainly.

Oh and I'm not a WUM, I believe he's better than the current Rooney and his PL goal scoring record is every bit as good as Giroud's and I personally think he's better.

Great post mate. Read it at work but unable to post a reply there. I wonder how the two attention seekeing fuckwhits Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dummer will respond. They really are Wums, posting in an arrogant and controversial style not loooking for debate but just to wind others up. Quite pityful really when you think about it.

As you have asked I will respond

Why are you so desperate to be right?

I am not desperate to be right. I could ask the same why you are so desperate to be proven right. It works both ways some of the excuses that have been made on here to cover how shit he has been is laughable. We even got to lies being made up to argue some peoples cases.

Why are you so pleased when he has a poor game?

If that was the case I would be happy as fuck every week.

So desperate for him to fail?

He is doing a fine job on his own.

Not even willing to give him 10 PL starts before calling him a 'fat lump'?

Because he hasn’t deserved to start. We are fans of one of the biggest clubs in PL and European football we do not have time to give players 10 starts to see if he will fit in or not. They should start from the bench and make an impact which he has failed to do. Then when the opportunity has come for him to take his chance he is woeful. But then all we here is- Well he will get dropped anyway when Aguero is back. More excuses given for him being shit.

As for you review of the United game I can tell you know there was going on a full block at the Swamp that were screaming for Pella to drag him off. So I have no idea where you get the view he had a good game. That is just desperation.

One of the great things to come out of lasts nights game is proof to the doubters that Kelechi should start more games he really is a special talent and is the future of our club far more than Bony will ever be.

That’s crap. There are many players who take time to settle at clubs and when you add in the fitness issues he has had he is absolutely deserving of a chance and continuing opportunities. I remember Silva’s debut being fairly unremarkable and look at Fernando now piss poor last year at times but was immense on Wednesday night.

Bony is doing ok, he is scoring goals and presents a very different option for us. If he can get back to his best form he would easily be a 20+ per season striker which is all you can ask for.

not wanting to wum or jump in on what seems an already entertaining exchange of words. But, I would like to add my own opinion. I think the guy is dog turd, i am not someone who relies on facts or figures i go off what i watch and in my opinion he has been pretty crap since joining and doesn't look like getting any better. Now i know a lot of people will be frothing at the mouth waiting to tear me a new one, but its just my opinion i like players like aguero, bellamy, tevez, players who work their socks off even when they having a bad game.
I imagine though theres people who think bellamy was crap whereas i thought he was ace.
Anyway why we all arguing, top of the league, and on for a quadruple. COME ON CITY!!!!!!!!!!

What a truly fantastic post. I couldn't have made you look any dafter if I tried.

I explain why I'm all for giving a City player a chance. I thought the fact I'm on a forum called Bluemoon would be a bit of a give away??

So he doesn't deserve ten games? The rest of the post just descends into drivel that highlights your limited understanding of the game.

We'll leave here shall we? You want a City player to fail so your balls look big on the Internet, I want him to succed because he's firstly a City player and secondly yet to have opportunity to prove his worth, finally I'm prepared to give him time because people who know far more than me saw fit to invest over £25 million in him. But sure, if only Txiki knew what originalkippaxman knew...

Trust me after your reviews on his games this year you succeed in taking that honour yourself.

To be fair I have little knowledge of watching City and the 14,500 loyalty points I have testify for that. I would advise you go to a game now and again instead of making your scouting judgements through a dodgy stream.

Keep the faith lad you can go your first game for a £1 in the next round.
