Its all about opinions. You carry on thinking he's good, but I won't. He is shocking when you consider the physique and players he has around him.

His penalty miss yesterday was so bad that it overshadowed all his good work in my mind last night. I'm still appalled that Party Boy didn't let KDB take the penalty but I regret letting that annoyance cloud my views yesterday (not that I posted them).

Bony is a very capable player but he has not found his best form for us and he needs to sooner rather than later. I would point out though that despite a good goals per game ratio at Swansea, his shots per goal ratio was not stunning but IIRC it was very similar to Dzeko's for us.

Well let's face it, he's not really the player for the system City play. He would be ideal next to someone like Aguero in the 4222 system, but we don't have the players in other positions to ideally suit that. Whether Pep could use him in one of his weird & wonderful formations with Aguero starting out wide & sneaking inside, I don't know, but this present system ideally needs a striker with pace. Iheanacho isn't good enough yet to be a first choice regular starter, he wastes too much ball, so we have Bony who imo, contrary to some opinion, is way way way way better than a half fit, non challenging Aguero, who is frankly dogshit when in that state & ruins the team. A 75% fit Aguero is possibly a better bet than Bony but imo had Bony started v Arsenal we would probably be above them now.

He's a top player, strong, highly skilled, great in the air, intelligent & scores goals. But probably not the right man for City.

Ignore my past comments in this thread, please.
What does Bony offer that Dzeko didn't (apart from the fan boys)? Because I'm struggling to see what we've got here apart from someone who might score less often than what we had.

I agree Teddy, but I think this is probably a result of not getting the type of cross he is used to. So he starts waiting for the cut back.
If we had a striker that pressured the 6 yard box constantly I think they would get a hat full.

That goes for Aguero too. He hangs around so often at the back post or middle/ edge of the box rather than attacking the near post etc. When he goes near post, he scores. As does Sterling & so did Dzeko Negredo & Jovetic (& Iheanacho).

More goals compared to Dzeko last season. Spends less time sitting on the ground having a sulking fit when tackled.

He's a decent enough striker but not a great fit for us. But like people say, you're not going to get Benzema and the like to come sit on the bench.

Dzeko helped win us titles but wasn't scoring last season. Bony is scoring & if we win the title this season he will have played a big part & done Aguero's job for a decent part of it, as did Dzeko in the past.

Why the fuck anyone would be on here moaning about him when we've just won 4-1 & he's scored a beauty, is seriously baffling.

30m and Bony for Lukaku. That's what we should do.

Everton would go for that.
Mate I think if this season is showing anything, it's that even the clubs who are traditionally canon fodder can now buy decent players in order to compete and this is only going to increase next season with the new TV deal coming in.

The only way Lukaku, Barkley or Stones will leave is if they demand a move or they no longer fit into Everton's plans and even then it will be for astronomical sums like Sterling to City.

David Silva even said recently that he can't believe how much more technically advanced the level of football has become in the PL since he first came here. Even the likes of Allardyce and Pulis are bemoaning the fact their teams aren't getting the ball down and 'playing football' and who seriously thought they'd ever hear such utterances from those two?

Yes Everton have a long term goal of acquiring a new and bigger stadium and need to fund that, but to make sense of that they need to remain in the Premier League which is the biggest priority for every club. West Ham have a new stadium to move into next season, Spuds have just got the go-ahead for theirs and even Crystal Palace are talking about doing a 'Chelsea' with their new ambitious owners.

Even with FFP, as it stands money will become less of a defining factor between success and failure and this is where managers who are proven to get more than the sum of the parts available to them will become the new highly sought commodity. Decent managers who have traditionally excelled just because they have better players will no longer have such an easy ride as our own Manuel is finding out.

Who's brought about all this change? The crooked self serving G14 clubs did in an attempt to stop Manchester City but never did they think it would backfire and affect any of them which is why the bent bastards are 'evolving the FFP rules' to try and exempt their members from the constraints they created to stop us.

It hasn't filtered through in Europe yet, but average English teams are talking in similar or better financial terms than many of the traditional European giants and Bournemouth apparently being in for Iturbe at £16m just further proves that point. So talk of smaller clubs just bending over and taking one up the shitter when a richer club comes along and wants their prize assets is going to happen less and less imo just as we found out when we went to buy Bony and Sterling. Those clubs will be made to pay up or fuck off because very few clubs in the PL now need to sell to survive.

I hate to think that Im considered to be moaning, far from it. I'm old skool and take any victory I can! I just don't rate him. I didn't rate Dzeko much either but I remembered him being better than Bony. Or maybe he wasn't? All I know is that if I was Inehacho and I had to play with Bony as my partner, then I'd know I'd be running around for him wherever he points (ala Macmanananananan), not for the team. He is one lazy bastard.

I tend to agree but I don't see him as quite the misfit that many do. He's not ideal as a lone striker but he does drop deep and link play well at times in formations like yesterday's, where Sterling was the most advanced player. He is also a great option off the bench when you need to hold the ball up.
