Completely anonymous when United had 11 and was getting passed around with ease, then played much better when United went down to 10 and played a few perfectly weighted through balls, but then went completely missing again when United started attacking towards the end. Moving him further forward should mean we defend more from the front, but the opposite is true. He stops doing any defending at all and just strolls around. Lovely turn to skin McNair near the end, but he needs to do more defensively when moved forward, otherwise it defeats the point of taking off a striker.

There was an interesting article on the SSN website comparing how many sprints he's done per game compared to last season, and it's massively fewer. I don't know if that's a tactical decision or down to the player himself, but I definitely noticed it today. There were a few times where we were breaking and he released the ball forward. Last season, he would've busted a gut to be on the edge of the box for the cut back, but today he just stopped as if his work was done. It's so frustrating, because he also showed what he can do when he gets into those positions today.

I thought with Silva out today, it was the perfect chance to have him further up the pitch, but Pellegrini didn't do it until late on.

Clear as day. With silva out we should have both ferns in the middle with him ahead of them. He looks like scoring when he's up there.

Yes. A Great General in the middle of the pack with his head on the shoulder!
To think that some of us want him to run like a headless chicken!
His pass to Clichy (who had the pace & well deployed by Peller today) was the key to unlock for the goal.

This guy has been one of the best players to grace our shirt, he would walk into any team hands down. As any pundit, player if they would rather play with him or against him, the answer would be with him

He set his bar high last season, but he is 31 now and not getting younger. His runs today were great and the way he left Shrek in his wake was fuckin class.

He does play better when further forward with 2 sitting behind, but that is for Pellers to decide on. Perfect formation for me would be
