Re: Yaya?

I cant decide on this one. He does look like he's lost his form completely but its only a few months since last season ended. Has what has happened in these few months permanently damaged his ability? I doubt that. Hes only a few months older than last season. Personally, I think we rely on him a little too much and he's lost some form which he needs to bring back and sharpish. Do what we did to Hart last season and see what happens. We need Fernando and Fernandinho playing together with Milner and either Nasri or Navas with Silva behind Aguero or Dzeko in Europe. In the league, having two strikers is fine. In Europe, we need to start packing out midfield and not relying on one sole player to play well which makes the team play well.

Also, as much as id love to get to more matches I cant get to them all. The fans against Roma were very disappointing. We need to make Etihad a fortress. I envy other clubs with the passion their fans show sometimes.

Re: Yaya?

Are we all being quiet cynical of Toure?he has been a great servant for us in the recent years and just last season he was the best midfielder in the league by a mile and has been integral in our two titles,fa cup and league cup triump
We should all collectively be supporting him and he does start the season slowly most of the times and its not his fault being in 2 man midfield against top opposition where your bound to get over run,and no one should be amune of criticism but discarding him totally would be jumping the gun,
Season is very long and we should know that better than any one,I do expect for him to come good soon

How does it go again...

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Yaya wouldn't know class if it hit him in the face. Summer told us that much. On form though he's an asset. My guess is the form,or lack of it,is another ploy to jump ship.

if he is deliberately under performing as you imply then pellegrini should be noticing and taking the requisite action.

as we found out on tuesday we can't carry passengers at this level, whoever it is

Sorry that's totally out of order, how would playing badly for City help him secure a better move elsewhere? It was his brilliant pass that set up the first goal against Newcastle. He's been nowhere near as bad as the ex rag pundits would have you believe.

The lack of support from City fans is disappointing. It's shooting ourselves in the foot as usual.

Get behind the lad and we will see the player of last year.

Re: Yaya?

Let's hope he improves soon, certainly once Fernando is back.

We need Yaya in the groove asap.

There's nothing deliberate about it. He just struggles against teams that press hard - whether it be the likes of Southampton, Swansea or Liverpool, or pretty much any decent side in Europe. Always has, hence why his performances against the top sides in the Champions League have been so underwhelming.

He played well against Chelsea, who defend much deeper and so afforded him more space; I'm sure he'll do fine against CSKA if they play that way. Against Roma away and Bayern at home though, he'll struggle again, all the more so if he's in a midfield two.

This is why we need 3 in midfield, to do the running for Yaya. Then he can dictate the game with his precise passing.
