Lack of replacement for who? The statement was that we sold Negredo because of FFP. That is not true.

It was because of FFP, but in regards to the sanctions put on us with how many foreign players are allowed in the CL this year. We needed to get rid of one more foreign player and with everything going on with Negredo, plus him being injured it seemed the logical choice at the time.

Then why did we wait until the last moment? It is not FFP related. He was always going to be left out of the squad once he got injured; he has still yet to play a game this season. We just happened to take advantage of the fact that Valencia made an offer the brass thought they could not turn down.

I'm not management so I couldn't tell you why? Maybe they were trying to get higher bid from another club. Maybe they wanted the money now instead of Negredo on loan with option to buy later. Pellegrini did say it though. and he does like to have 4 strikers. Seeing how Jovetic and Aguero gets injured a lot, I'd like to think he'd either keep Negredo or get another striker if we weren't under the FFP sanctions.

Re: Yaya?

Better from Ya Ya today, still a bit off his game but i thought generally better. Trying to do wonder passes and super shots a bit too much, but was a bit better. Still room for improvement!!

Re: Yaya?

He was nowhere near the worst player today.

Dzeko was fucking shit yet people still defend him despite half a good season in five.

Clichy was as shit as he has been for the last 3 seasons.

Zabaleta hasn't has one good game this season yet is exempt from criticism because he is Zabaleta.

Kompany has been average

Navas lightweight as always.

Mangala looking like a £12m footballer not £32m

Yet it comes back to Yaya every game on the back of what he said in the summer.

Re: Yaya?

People talk about Zabaleta, Kompany and Mangala being shite but I think they're struggling on the basis that most games they're having to carry Clichy or Kolarov. Essentially, when one collapses in the back four, the rest also go like dominos.

It's no coincidence that every centre back we've had that is on that left hand side goes to shit. It's always been a problem, it was the same two years ago but it was like a stain covered up with Barry sitting just in front. He didn't do much, but it was just enough to help out a fragile defense.

Kolarov and Clichy are both weak links. It's telling that Pellegrini rotates them around so much, he evidently doesn't know who is better, or should I say... worse?

Totally agree, yet both were laughably given new contracts. Kolorov had a half decent season last year and clichy when we won the first title. Other than that both have been crap.

It has been a weak link for years yet we still don't address it and it's costs us.

Re: Yaya?

Yaya was too subdued in the first half but much better in the second when he made five shots and attempted four dribbles. Biggest complaint overall was that he only hit the target with one out of seven shots in the game.

Ultimately Aguero was a big part in costing us the points today with a miss that he would surely score 9 times out of 10. However he has enough brownie points in the bag to not get criticised. Quite rightly, but however bad Yaya has been in other games, today wasn't one of them
