He can be magical at any one time but does that one piece of potential magic allow the 89 minutes of non existence? Clearly it does to Pellers
That's where we disagree for the other 89 minutes he will have made more passes than any other player, will often have made more tackles than anyone on the team, will have been central to everything .

As I mentioned in another post; against Leicester he got called lazy , in that game he made 6 successful tackles , the whole of our defence made 6 and I think the other ten players combined made 10. Yet this passes by un noticed as when he is just tackling , passing, intercepting or running the show it seems to be ignored. Even without his magic , strength and goals he would be a great Premier league footballer but he is not credited for his role that holds or side together as the link between defence and attack, frequently the player who sets up every attack or clears a corner and nearly always our main passer and most consistent player

half our team of the last 20 years have been of other races and clearly people of the same race nowadays can be from all corners of the globe.

I just want to get an explanation for how the player who plays the most minutes for us, makes the most passes, plays through injury , who complains if he ever misses a game in any comp, who is frequently there at the end of games and of the season forcing us over the line with the power of his game is lazy? How our best player ever can be so underrated and unloved . When so many fans can be up the Jacksie of a player like tevez who did nothing football wise in comparison and who The cake comment wouldn't have made it in to his top 200 crimes at city .
Don't think you can say Tevez did nothing for City. There was a time when Tevez was simply all we had offensively. And his passion and hard work was legendary. I'm not saying Yaya deserves his flak, but Tevez earned his respect. Even if he was a wantaway brat at the end.

It is a strong statement I agree, a very strong statement - I won't deny that . It is though a statement not aimed at you or about the colour of his skin.

I deeply believe that for some inexplicable reason Yaya has never got the credit in the game amongst the media, other fans or even our own fans that he deserves.

It can't be effort the stats prove that a lie, it can't be ability - that is evident for all to see, it can't be the cake comment - tevez did 100x worse on a 100 ocassions, it can't be race we have loved many players who shared the same race, it can't be commitment to City as he has shown as much or more than our beloved heroes kompany, aguero, silva . So what is it?

I think that African footballers and by this I mean footballers from Africa, playing for African countries have never got the respect they deserved. Eto'o never got the credit his ability deserved and was always called a mercenary in the way players like Beckham never were. Weah was never loved, Drogba never got credit outside Chelsea's fans commensurate with his impact in the game in the same way others like Zola did. Maybe it's all about marketability and money, what sells but I do think it's true that overall African footballers and in this case Yaya haven't got the respect or acknowledgement they deserve.

I apologise for causing offense , I should've been clearer and I shouldn't have done it on a quoted reply , I have no reason to make any judgement on you i don't know you from Adam and don't know what creed or colour you are to even judge.

Apology accepted *holds out hand to shake*

However I think you're absolutely wrong to believe African players are treated any differently, by City fans at least. Personally I won't clap Yaya on to the pitch for the same reasons I wouldn't with Tevez (my post history will show I hated that little twat with a passion). That said Yaya's name has been and continues to be sung from every side of the ground at every game since he's been at the club and rightfully so because he's been nothing short of incredible for us over the years.

Ps... George Weah - I guess you mean the Ballon D'or winner in 1994/1995 if I remember correctly, clearly got no love either, haha!!

Do you reckon pep might make him centre back? Great in the air and a brilliant passer, working in a three with kompany and Fernandinho with silva our deep lying playmaker just in front lol. Can't wait to see what he has spotted that we havent

Hope not, we still need his influence in the middle IMO, even if we do get someone like pogba he won't be able to control the game like yaya for a few years

No he did a lot and in many ways more off the pitch tha on , the first bona Fide top footballer we had signed in 20 odd years. But compared to Yaya his part was small and his crimes were far far greater

The shit that Yaya Toure gets in this forum is utterly fucking disgusting. He has been, and still is, an absolute great for us

Absolutely!! This guy always steps up to help us in those big moments. His goal yesterday on the volley on a crap pitch may have seen easy, but the skill required to execute that was amazing. What a big goal again. This guy is a legend and just wait until he is no longer here. To replace him is going to be extremely difficult. I looked around at some other fans websites last night, and the amount of respect Yaya gets is incredible, strange that we don't always do the same.

I wish people would stop taking what pundits/journalists say as gospel.

Think for yourselves.

The only thing that's lazy about Yaya is the way people form their opinions of him.

Do you think that because he was our captain when it all happened, or because he ran off?
I think yaya is a quality player as was tevez, both very very different and crimes were very different too, tevez was ?fell out with Mancini (and to be fair mancini could and did argue with more than 1 person) and ran off like a ----, and yaya ?advised by and allowed his advisor to chat shit at any given opportunity, but stuck around.

Yaya leaves a hole in the midfield sometimes, but it's not his fault, it's the way managers build/pick the teams & then bung him into a situation he isn't entirely capable of playing. He made a few big interceptions yesterday, just prior to scoring a golazo.

Accomodating him, Silva, DeBruyne (Nasri) Dzeko etc in the same team over a period of time requires a really excellent system unless it is to fall apart from time to time. We haven't yet had a manager good enough to do it. Perhaps it can't be done, in which case we haven't yet had a manager good enough to realise it or powerful enough to change it.

If we win the league, Yaya will probably step up in games where it's going wrong, many more times than Silva does, between now & May.
