He's tried that several times and he doesn't have it in his locker now. Very sad to say because that was one of the finest sights in football

You can't play a player who is struggling with the physical intensity of the game in a semi-final and then leave him on for 90 minutes. And then when we are struggling at the heart of midfield we go and compound it by putting on a pedestrian centre-back.

We are very very lucky to still be in this competition.
This is the most frustrating thing. He's left on for 90 minutes because so often he does produce that moment of magic that gets us out of jail like at Watford where that moment of sheer brilliance flipped the game on its head when we were seemingly dead and buried.

Solution? Pogba.

With yayas legs going/gone/about to go, i would like to see him at CB. I think he has all the attributes to be a great CB, and we could still get another couple of years out of him that way im sure.

Or we use him more "efficiently" in games. Only play him once a week or bring him on as an impact player for the last 20 mins maybe?

The attributes of a great centre back involve being able and willing to run.

Ya Ya should just be locked in a bedroom with Nat Pike and used for stud. After all, in the 2 mins he shows willing each performance he could still do some damage

Can you elaborate on those CB attributes, please?

Yes i understand the willingness to be able to run, but as a CB he wouldnt be required to "try" and get up and down the pitch for 90mins as he is supposed to be doing now.

Hes big and strong and good in the air. Still quite pacey when it suits him. Hes a good passer and cool under pressure and Hes a good reader of the game and usually is a decent tackler.

"theoretically" he has all the attributes to be a decent CB in my humble opinion.

Nowadays he's a 5/10 player who has 10/10 moments. Some would argue those moments justify his place in the side. If everyone was firing we could carry him but while we labour I don't think we can afford him.
