I have to disagree. He seriously lacks the mobility, tenacity, heading ability and timing in the tackle to make a decent CB. He'd be skinned by anyone except maybe Emile Heskey.

A bit like Demichelles then :-)

When mangala went off i just thought instead of bringing Demi on, he could have dropped yaya into CB. He couldnt do any worse than Demi could he??
Lucas at liverpool is doing ok in his last few games filling in at CB and hes not a patch on Yaya.

ok i admit that yaya at CB is a stupid idea! :-)

He needs a rest and should be told so for his own good. The weekend off would be a start.
A rest?!!! .. He needs fucking dropping!! Loved what he's done for us down the years but we can't keep playing a player who isn't doing the bizzo. And the odd goal here or there does not mask over the fact that he is becoming a serious liability. I hope he can come back to somewhere near his best but I'm now doubting this. We need a general overhaul next year and I think Yaya will be offski's. I'm not Yaya bashing here, I go to most games and see with my own eyes..just saying it how it is.

Yaya should have gone last summer if not before and that isnt hindsight. Its the realisation that big clubs sell big players at the right time which sometimes makes fans think wtf but its whats best for the club going forward.

Yes we get attached to certain players but that doesnt mean we become a retirement home for them.

We could have got huge money for a player and invested that in the future and its what we need to be doing from now on.

He looked good at the start of the season .
But that was when we were playing one game a week .
Quite clearly he can't play twice a week .

It's not rocket science. The guy is past his best, can't play 2 games a week.

So why is the manager selecting him? Last night he should have been at home with his feet up, the same for the Norwich game, Bring him back the following week refreshed.....No Pellegrini is a stubborn fool.

My only hope is we can keep in the top 4 before Pep arrives.

Looked at some of your other posts. Yaya is not the only coming in for some bad language from you is he?
Yaya has given me some of my best moments as a fan (Wembley, Newcastle etc)

You've far too much time on your hands if you can be bothered to wade through the drivel I've posted mate.

And yes, he has given us some incredible moments. I just happen to think that whilst he's been an incredible player, he's also shown himself to be a right twat and now he is not such an incredible player either.

People slating him everywhere but the guy was absolutely fucked. He's not finished yet he just needs managing properly. He clearly was way too knackered to play last night, and was absolutely shot by the 35th minute. I'm not talking about how much running he did you could see the way he played - every ball he played wasn't weighted quite right, the ball was constantly stuck under his feet, he was too weak to hold off players and keep the ball, any burst from midfield was easily defended. We tried to break with him on numerous occasions only for him to lose the ball and them to counter and nearly score (or win the corner to score for the first goal). In the second half his tackles became desperate lunges, he spent some of it literally on his hands and knees. He was a total liability but it wasn't his fault. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Terrible management.

Agree with this.

Total naivety by Pellegrini to consistently play him for the whole game.

In turn its damaging Yaya's legacy/reputation amongst City fans.

When he leaves he should be remembered for the winning goals in the FA Cup semi-final and final, the crucial goals away at Newcastle and in the capital one cup final against Sunderland.

If this continues then he will instead be remembered as a liability who we couldn't wait to get rid of.
