No one is denying that Yaya has put in some great performances and crucial goals over the past 4 seasons - it's just a massive pity that he's going to let himself go out on a low by under performing for the past 2 seasons, coupled with him besmirching his own City-legacy with cakegate, brother-gate, and now another toys out of the pram episode.

No he wasn't. He scored opening game and we all thought hello looks like Yaya means business this season and then he reverted to type. I agree he needs to be used more sparingly this season but can you really see that happening the way he throws a sulk over every little thing? If Pellegrini benched him, him and his dick head agent would be mouthing off again.

For me he still a top player but lately has suffered along with the rest of the team, we have not played well for a good few months, He then seems to be left high and dry in that fans look for him to inspire and do the driving runs. I do not think those days have totally gone but definitely will be less.
We will miss him when he has gone as he will be difficult to replace.

Could he play centre back with one with pace next to him? Forget the marauding runs that we used to get. He has done at Barca, he was immense in that Champs league final v the rags, albeit one game but he calm, can come out from the back, pass it well (most of the time), his heading or challenging for the aerial ball not the best just lately but could be sorted with a different mentality.

Well imo I think he's the best cm in the prem. Anywhere else I don't think he'll get into any top teams.
