Player topic : Yaya Toure (2015/16)

Toure is a player who is always going to divide opinion amongst City fans, and there are merits in both sets of arguments regarding the player and his attributes.

What I find totally unacceptable however is the total disrespect for the club, management and fans which is brought about by the reported outbursts by him or his despicable agent in the media.

Toure will never be amongst the truly great City players for me.

What sticks in my graw is that when his agent said city would not let him have time off to see his dying brother and yaya said his agent speaks for him so endorsing those amongst other comments

As I said. His agent is a numb. But somehow important for Yaya. Who are we to judge that relationship. More important, did any of the agent's comments influenced Yaya's form on the pitch? Not that I noticed. And it surely didn't make Yaya decide to take 4 months off without permission.

The criticism Yaya gets on here is absurd. I have been critical recently. But no way I'd compare Yaya with Balotelli nor Tevez for that matter. Yes his agent is whatever is wrong about agents in general. And yes, Yaya should've zipped it when talking about Africans' POTY. Even though he is spot on.
If Yaya leaves this summer (many were sure he would walk last summer) I will remember him as one of our most important players post Sheik Mansour area. And this is an opinion formed without statistics...
You are right ES76 one of our best and most effective players ever, the hate for him in here is UTTERLY FUCKING DISGUSTING

Because what Yaya achieved last year is by far more influencal than scoring a few more goals for Dortmund maybe?

It's not based on team achievements though, it's based on individual performances and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had the better performances throughout the year not just flashes of brilliance now and again. Its only like when Ronaldo and Messi compete with each other for the Ballon d'Or

Problem with Yaya is that he thinks the world it's against him and comments like he made regarding Africa does not help his situation.

HIs agent is saying this because Guardiola has already got rid of yaya once in his career and a repeat event is probably quite likely. At the very least Pep will not start him anywhere near the amount of games he's got under pellegrini, my feeling is Inter will revive interest and he'll go this time. Pep won't treat him like mancini and pellegrini have.

Whatever you like to think. In my opinion Yaya was totally right in his opinion. He just needed to keep his mouth shut though.

I love him as a player but accept he is on the decline and i don't think his time is being managed correctly but as a person i am not amused,i think that is what a lot of people are saying, imo of course

So the thinking behind some posts on here is that Pep will more than likely if not definitely be getting rid of yaya when and if he comes in...so the question would be, is Yaya likely not to completely give 2 fuks if he plays well or not now? or would he play even better to maybe just maybe in thinking that Pep may still see life in him OR cement his place in folklore with our club, if of course he hasnt already?

there is no hate. just a stating of the facts. yaya seems to think he is bigger than the club and the continent of Africa. No player is bigger than the club.

He is one of our best ever players, but also, one of the ones with the worst on and off pitch attitudes, unfortunately.
