Don't think there's anything wrong with people suggesting Fernando over Yaya for tactical reasons, not really a criticism of Yaya so much as how the team play as a whole & what people think would be most effective in certain match ups. Pellers sees the team week in week out - he'll know if Yaya is up for the job & play him accordingly rather than us who see him once/twice a week & have to judge off of that. You have to say he has a fair point when some are suggesting they would rather play Fernando over one of the greatest players of his generation.
The guy is absolutely crucial to the way we play. He is the one who collects the ball and links the defence to attack, controls the game by retaining the ball and scores heavily as well as crucial goals.
He has probably been the most important player over the past 5 years and yet by some, among his own fanbase, he is not fully appreciated.
Think everyone has critics, but the vast majority of City fans love Yaya & it's easy to see why when you look at what he's achieved with us. Wouldn't say he's under appreciated by the fanbase as a whole, just look at someone like Navas for a good example of that.
