Players supposedly unhappy

Sam Lee will have been told to drum up some subscriptions. Expect something from Ornstein any time soon.
I've done some writing before and it's piss easy.
Here you go
'There are noises (no proof required cos it's non specific) coming out of Manchester City that a number of players are unhappy with their game time.
Sources (never has to reveal them, so can hide behind the word) claim that several key players, including (insert name), are disillusioned with the amount of game time they have had.'

If someone from the club contests the article he's got a follow up. If they don't he'll write what he wants.

Sam Lee the red bastard. Getting those clicks in post season esp after a disappointing CL defeat. Rodri unhappy lmao. Guys played the most minutes of all players almost last 2 years. Such BS as per

There probably is definitely some truth to this , with the degree some players are unhappy more than others .
Laporte and Sterling I could imagine are more unhappy then say cancello and Rodri .
But obviously cancello hasn’t joined us to play second fiddle to walker .
Sterling and Laporte will not be happy being rotation options .
they’ll be a few issues like that in the squad .

I’ve thought for a while our squad is too big , too many good players on the bench who will want to play every week .

Jesus is Brazil’s number 9 , waited patiently as the heir to aguero but now finds himself out the team and sees were linked with Kane and Haaland .

Bernardo hasn’t seemed himself for me for past couple of seasons , even though by all accounts he’s a good season this year .

he may feel he’s undervalued, he seems to play his best football when kdb is injured .
When de bruyne is fit he just gets wherever we need him , turned him in to a bit of a workhorse really , he might not be thrilled with it .

Personally I do feel the squad is too big , and these problems are probably inevitable.
Maybe we’re missing a trick not promoting a few more young lads like Doyle, Palmer , hardwood bellis etc and having them round the squad .

They are lower maintenance and I’m sure would have a positive attitude.

Keeping a squad like ours happy must be a thankless task , full of star players .
Can imagine it gives pep a bit of a headache.

Saying that though , it’s probably one of the main reasons for our success over the past few years .
So it’s a tricky one really .

Ah, but you quote Rodri and the minutes. This is a simple, straightforward, ungarnished, emphatic, unadorned and unadulterated FACT. People who ply their craft and trade as dye-in-the-wool bullshitters and bollocks-spreaders have no need for such useful items as a simple fact.

I believe there’s some truth in it, that certain players aren’t happy, but I don’t think the journalist knows anything specific. I think he’s just shooting from the hip and wanting clicks.

But we’ve gone from a pre-Guardiola team that had less squad depth, probably not as strong or tactically drilled, but which gave the players some freedom as individual footballers. Now we’re in a team that’s very disciplined, playing within limited parameters, heavier rotation (price to pay for success across the board?). If a player was unhappy in our current side or with our tactics, I also reckon they can’t even voice that dissatisfaction, because I don’t assume pep reacts to that “assertiveness” very well.

If I was Laporte, I’d be wanting out in all honesty. He could walk into many top sides’ first XIs. What’s the point of continuing if he can’t get in our first team for a big match? Just left France for the same reason and everyone knows international football is secondary these days

Similarly, Torres, Aguero and Sterling will have been pissed off for a large part of this season. Fern, Rodri and Cancelo will have been upset for the UCL final last weekend. Can’t keep all of them happy. But makes you wonder if you’d rather have that togetherness, regularity and spirit that fosters club legends, or a rotation heavy set up that looks to dominate every competition, but with a high turnover

I have just listened to the post CL podcast which talks about this issue for around the last 20mins or so

The point is there can be players who are not entirely happy with their situation at the moment due to their playing time or role, but want to stay regardless. However there will be a certain few who are unhappy who now believe it may be time to go

The podcast actually names Bernardo as one that isn't entirely happy - and I can understand why. The attacking threat he offers has been non-existent this season because he has been used to chase down players instead and be a bit of a carthorse - so understandably he wouldn't be happy. Bernardo's best season was when Kev was injured, and he flourished as the main attacking mid.

The situation we face is are the players that the podcast mentions happy to stick and continue, because the ones that aren't are the ones we will try and move on this summer, if we can.

Pep said himself in the interview that teams need to make changes, it’s rare in modern football a successful team keeps the core of its players for so long together. Now and then they get moved on and tbh we haven’t made any big changes to the squad since 4 years ago. I see no issue really in Sterling,Laporte, Jesus etc leaving. If they see their football elsewhere and we get good money then simple. We owe them nothing and they owe us nothing

Our problem is that if this is true and if the players that are supposedly mentioned are indeed unhappy. They have no excuse to be. What exactly do they want? To play every game? If a player cannot tolerate rotation then I can't tolerate them. IF true.
