This concept of referees protecting the players. How does this actually work? What could the referee have done to prevent Kane, Alli, Murphy and Puncheon from fouling our players? Nothing! Are those that want protection actually advocating retrospective punishment when the referee is deemed to have applied an insufficient punishment at the time?

those players should have been given straight red or shuld be given retrospective ban. those players are unpunished so more and more players are targeting city players. they know they cannot compete aginst city playing wise so they are targeting players.

I agree with that. Its hard in real time to know, in all instances, how bad a challenge was but the FA, benefitting from replays, should act to protect the better technical players regardless of club.

Yes, because they are excellent, generally run rings around the opposition and hence invoke their ire.

Yes, but I think it's other players targetting ours rather than managers. The managers (and media) encourage the situation which some shitty players then take it too far.

Something has to be done before creative beautiful football is literally stamped out in this country

It is the deterrent aspect knowing a bad tackle, even if you are booked, could still lead you missing a number of matches.

The club do the talking behind the scenes. If it gets too much expect a 2012 Viera style outburst from someone in the club the FA can't touch.

then why hasnt the unpunishment going on. why do refree think the victim players are always play acting? if this goes on than all our main players will be injured until we start playing bad.
