Yes but he brought something to the squad in terms of a winning mentality, and was a big part when our mentality started to change to match the expectation of the media etc. if I remember he was part of our first team that qualified for CL. I’m a bit muddy, so much has happened in the last 20odd years. He was also a great club rep in the manner in which he can speak so eloquently and how he conducts himself as a gentleman. His legs were gone and his playing time was limited but he was a big part in our change as a club for me

Definitely a big part of the squad, irregardless of playing time. Same as Kompany in his injury-hit seasons.

We are at a similar point now with Stones / Laporte. Got to be the first choice pair this year for us.

You're both right, of course. Quality CB but also a shithouse. A top, TOP shithouse.
