Players who might improve us

These are the kind of signings that would get us excited 15+ years ago
Doesn't mean that they wouldn't be able to do a good job as back-ups in a bigger squad. They're decent hard working players with PL experience.

As it stands, we're looking at rotating about 15 players, and I've not been particularly impressed by many of the names 'linked' to us up to now.

Ward prowse??? Cmon,I know it's fucking silly season snd some fannies have lost their minds.....but he is a joke of a suggestion.

Some of you seemingly just want a transfer, and it matters not who that is.
I’m only saying that I wanted it instead of Phillips and look how that’s gone. One Rodri injury and our greatest season may not have happened. With Kovacic here now I have no interest in it

I've not said I want him, just trying to understand a suggestion.

I actually think it's never certain who'd adapt to our system and who won't. Some can surprise and maybe playing alongside better players can make it all a bit easier for them.

However I don't rate him overall, but I do rate his set pieces. They are pretty much as good as it gets. He could be very useful for someone, just someone not as good as we are.

Dare say he'd be no worse than Phillips has been though.

You're starting to sound like an entitled rag mate.

Every squad needs decent bench players. Ward-Prowse and Johnson would be good back-up options at a reasonable price/wages.

There ain't any 'marquee' players out there now, and the Rice/Bellingham moves show that we're not the big attraction for players that many seem to think we should be.

If you're waiting for big names to sign, you may well end up disappointed. We'll probably end up doing a few swaps with Arsenal.

What a load of nonsense. Its not entitled to not want to fill our squad with relegation candidates.

You mean like when we filled our squad with relegation candidates like Nathan Ake and Kalvin Phillips? Or players who couldn't even get a start at their club, like Manuel Akanji?

A good player is a good player. It's all about their dedication and attitude. The players I've named are known to give 100% for their team. They can't be expected to make up for the lesser players around them.

Entitled?? Behave yourself.

We may as well stick with Doyle and other academy boys if we are going down your route.

I'm more than happy to go into the season as we are, other than unjustified panic and neediness, fuck all has really changed.

Two players you have named there. One which has been a success and was not far away from being sold last season had we done our other business and the other is perhaps lucky he is still here. Hardly a great endorsement of signing relegation candidates is it.

Akanji, playing for a top club in Germany and regular international. He was just in a bad situation because of contractual issues etc.

The fact you are even saying they "give 100%" says it all really. Probably what the rags are thinking when they are giving out contracts to the likes of Jonny Evans.

The whole transfer forum is awash with nutters. Been checking threads hoping for updates and there are just arguments everywhere
