Players who might improve us

There’s a young Scottish left back at hearts. Hickey I think he’s called.

looks really good. I think there are some cheap gems out there and it could save us millions

...along with Justin, Chilwell, Cresswell....this thread is beyond a joke, we have a young m/f playing left back who's better than all of them ;)

The funniest being that we should & could get Chilwell because he's behind Alonso.lol

Belotti could be a cheap target man/striker, contract ends in 2022 and he has a 1 in 2 rate at a not so brilliant team.

Ivan Toney's the top scorer and assister in the Championship with 23 & 9. Not seen him play, but Ollie Watkins has done very well, and Toney's already beaten his goal and assist record 28 games in. Anyone watch the Championship much?

I remember seeing him for Peterborough in the FA Cup and he was incredible. Scored a hat-trick, including a free-kick from 50 yards. Brentford have an excellent scouting system and always seem to unearth/develop good talent (Maupay, Watkins, Benrahma, Konsa, Dasilva, Mepham, Henry, Canós). He seems like a talent but he'd be a huge risk at City. He needs a Watkins-to-Villa-esque move to prove himself at Premier League level.

Not so sure if there are many available players that would improve us.
I think the priority is to replace the players that are heading towards the end of their careers with us.
Liverpool have a relatively old team and it is showing.
If we were able to replace Aguero and Fernandinho, not necessarily now, plus players like Mendy who are going to get little gametime then we will be OK for the next few years.

I'm surprised Yangel Herrera doesn't get more of a look in - I personally don't think he's far off in terms of ability to Luiz, who we are all talking about bringing back for a £25m fee.

If we're going all in on the Haaland/Messi kitty, I don't think we'd be a bad depth option to bring back from loan for next season. Solid La Liga midfielder and has a goal in him.

I commented on Herrera back in 2017 when I used to watch NYCFC. I have followed him since and he's done well in La Liga but I don't think he's got that quality to step up. The 10-15m we get for him will be put in the kitty for the other targets.
