Yes but my point was intentionally non-specific to Salah but instead a larger point about having an established and consistent winger regularly producing for us as we are not signing Salah in any reality. That hypothetical winger could play on either side.

we can't bring in another winger without losing one first. We see foden, nunes and bernardo out wide but none of those are actual wingers. we currently have 4 of them, Bobb, doku and savinho are all under 23 and aren't going anywhere anytime soon so the only logical one would be grealish and even that's highly unlikely as we'd struggle to find a taker.

I know he's usually played there for us but I don't think Grealish's best position has ever been a winger. I expect it won't be Bobb's either.

Personally I would like to see Grealish tried a bit more centrally as I feel he could make a real contribution there. Our manager seems reluctant though.

We still have a massive rebuild to do, so not suggesting we put all our eggs in one basket, but I’d throw 500k a week at Salah and see if he’s tempted.

He’s in the best form of his life, is never injured and is in fantastic shape. Brazilian players famously love to party and it shortens their careers. Plus Casemiro was always pretty slow.

I’d say there’s a less than 5% chance of getting Salah, but I’d take him here in a heartbeat. Easily got at least 3 years left.

We should not buy players for what they're done in the past. We should focus on what they can do in future.

That said, Salah doesn't have 3 years. He has 1 decent year left in him. This is that penultimate super year top players have. Yaya scored ,20 goals the year before sucking.

While i don’t think it happens, a top level performer who doku/savinho can be understudy’s too for a few years would be ideal…

Ivd been trying to think of a 8/6 hybrid i like and have finally come across one I'm impressed with:

Ezekiel Palacios... I came across some City tuber doing an analysis of his play and im all in after watching lots of his videos. He is exactly the type of player my mind believes we need. An 8 who can play 6 in.a pinch.

I knew of him and have seen him for Argentina once or 2ixe and never thought much of him. He is far more impressive than i gave him credit for though.


Im all in now. Tijja i Reijnders and Ezekiel Palacios. 2 mids id be highly interested in acquiring.

City have had a long standing interest in Palacios but never completed the deal. Goes back to 2018 when he was at River Plate in Bleacher report it mentions that City were competing with Real Madrid for his signature. Palacios left River eventually in 2020. An embed problem prevented me from uploading this article. It basically claimed Palacios was a DM.

I can aee why we've been interested. Very Pep-ish player. Knows where the ball is going before he gets it and quickly readjusts to be open for a return pass.

Very nifty quick touch touch in tight space type player. But he has a tackle on him. Im sure he isnt a 6. Bit he can do whatever Gundo siscon 18/19 season.

After Palacios won the World Cup with Argentina in 2022 he split with his wife and she sold his World Cup winners medal and shirt as part of a vindictive settlement.

He does tend to pick up injuries but nothing to suggest that would keep,him out long term. Tend to be 1 or 2 games. Although beginning of this season he was missing for around a month.

Grealish to go he does not do enough!! We keep waiting let’s get half of our money back!! The other three can cover the wing spot, don’t believe we can play with two wingers. Buy Frimpong back he could do the job ( like Kyle never could) but cover him with a right sided DM Rico or and get Kimoch for now!!

I think we will end up with Pepelu that’s my guess. Hugo Larsson we were linked with before he went to Frankfurt could be a good option. I’m a fan of Palacios too.
