Players You Have Met

Met Mark Drapery Nigel Clough and Martin O' Neil all pleasant . Gary Lineker didn't want to say hello.

Kolo Toure - spoke with him for about 20 minutes after the derby loss in 2010, scholes last minute. repeatedly kept apologising for the result, he was literally gutted. Had a chat about everything else, nice guy one of the best i've met.

Kevin Keegan in 2004 - had a good chat, one line he said ''really i'm no different than you at all, just have a higher bank balance'', nothing else needs to be said. Top guy, proper down to earth.

Had the fortune of meeting Brian Kidd, top bloke. Also, met Roberto himself on the 11th May this year, calm and cool as you like only 48 hours before the big kick-off. Others include Marwood and most unfortunately, Roy Keane, and a few times, every time he was a ****.

At a wedding in Sheffield after a City game and having a piss and bloke next to me says"who do you support"I say "Gods Own" "Oh,I played for them today!"

It was Perry Suckling with Jamie Hoyland and Paul Simpson.

Hoyland and Suckling great guys - Simpson was an absolute knobhead - can see how he has failed in management.

Mick McCarthy bought me a drink on my birthday once in the Sandpiper!

Neil McNabb, Graham Baker and Nigel Johnson were regulars in their after games.

i was sat next to the king himself at an auction last year in chester.

he's very reserved.

Once got into an argument with Frank Stapleton at a "derby legends" dinner at a Manchester restaurant. He was claiming that United's financial success was entirely due to good marketing. When I asked him if he was really suggesting that if Stockport County had the same marketing team that they could be as profitable he said "yes". When I suggested that United had benefited from the international sympathy arising from Munich which made them a household name across the world and facilitated their marketing, he said it had nothing to do with it. It's a viewpoint I guess.

Met Trevor Benjamin a few times. A top lad. I am going to his wedding in Northumberland in September.

Others not mentioned on here:
Justin Edinburgh - a bit of an Essex Boy but a good laugh
Roy Hodgson - a gentleman, very polite and sincere
Les Ferdinand - a good laugh and a gent
Jermaine Jenas - nice lad and down to earth
Ledley King - miserable bastard
Pat Jennings - see Roy Hodgson
Clayton Blackmore - arrogant nob
Clive Wilson - genuinely nice bloke
