its bollocks to say we arent being mugged off because we are.
Only you are, no one else is.

I'm with those who don't see what all the fuss is about. The club set a price in the past that you were happy to pay, so you paid it. That's the end of their obligation to you. They didn't make any further guarantees,

Situations change, but you got a price you were happy with and that's the end of it. If this game was the decider, your £28 ticket would be looking like a right bargain. That's the chance you take when you buy ANYTHING in advance.

Variables beyond the club's control have now meant that there are likely to be thousands of empty seats for this game if they don't do anything drastic to rectify it, and those of you complaining in this thread who aren't in the Police Force have got absolutely sod all to be complaining about.

Variables??what overpricing it initially is the clubs fuck up so they now give them away for next to nothing to people who have fuckall interest in reality about the clubs pricing policy twds long standing fans

So, at no point, has the option been open to me to purchase £15 tickets? I'm not an employee of the NHS, GMP or Virgin, and I'm not a student. In that case I've actually saved myself £5 by signing up to the cup scheme. Yes, there are £15 tickets being sold to some people, but I was never going to be one of those people. It's akin to selling a concession ticket to an under 16 for £15 when I've paid £25 in that case. Due to the personal circumstances of one City supporter (in this case their age) they have been able to purchase a ticket for a cheaper price than I have. Would I like to have only paid £15 myself? Of course I would, who wouldn't? Doesn't mean I feel "mugged off" however. Now, if there were £15 tickets on open sale to anyone who phones up the ticket office then I'd feel unfairly treated and be complainign about this, as I would have paid £13 more for my ticket than I needed to. But that's not the case. What do we want City to do here, not do these "deals" to fill the stadum/attract fans who might subsequently come to matches and pay full price? Keep the tickets for all who didn't join the cup scheme at £33, and in the process have a half empty stadium? It's all part of a wider marketing scheme, it's modern football and, whilst some might not like the way football has changed over the last decade or so, it's an inevitable process.

The variable of us having won 3 games and already being through with a home game still to play.

The club didn't overprice it because you and plenty of other people were more than happy to pay for it.

Would you be this pissed off if it was members of the Armed Forces getting £15 tickets, or is it the fact that it's a group you're part of that's pissing you off so much?

I have no issue with any group getting discounted tickets.
My issue is the way anyblue on the cup scheme who commits to pay is paying nearly double.

The irony is that the people moaning about this situation (saying that its not fair to sell cheaper tickets to fill more seats) , will be the same ones that will be in the atmosphere threads moaning about the ground being half empty!!

The only alternative is to make absolutely everyone else pay £33 for this game and play it in front of thousands of empty seats. What else could they do? I'm amazed they're actually sticking to such a high general sale price, so at least give them some credit for that.

The price you paid was fair when you paid it. They can't factor in the fact that demand for the final game might be exceptionally low, just as they can't factor in the demand being exceptionally high. As I said, that's just the risk you take when buying things in advance; there's no point getting upset by it.

If this was the decider you'd be paying less.

Any suggestion that the club is remotely interested in the long standing, loyal supporter that stood by when times were tough is just fanciful.

Were just a pretty easy target to be monetised. Our loyalty counts for fuck all, you can buy that nowadays.

But not because they are on the cup scheme, or because they commited to pay early. They are paying nearly double the amont that oter people are paying, but in the vast majority of cases they would never have been eligible for the lower priced ticket anyway. Ok, there will be a small number of cup scheme people who could have got their hands on £15 tickets for this game through legitimate means, but I doubt City knew at the point they were selling cup scheme tickets what deals they would be using for what games during the season.

Dear Manchester City,
I understand that someone may read this board now and then so please take note.
I will not be joining the Champs League farce next season. I will wait for the reduced prices.
Didsbury Dave says I should think of it like a restaurant, Cleavers can't understand why I don't understand. Well I have now got the message loud and clear, if I am loyal I will be ripped off. If I pretend I am not loyal I will save money. Although I will be there, I always am, I will just not tell you in advance.

Yours, B. Mist

That's your choice in a free market, mate.

But you'd better get on a police training course pretty quickly to make it before next season.

ANY member of GMP, civilian or police officer who is a member of the sports and social can apply for tickets (plural) I know someone within GMP so next year I think I will ask them to get me a ticket. I might even start flogging them on here (at face value of course)
I also spoke at length to someone whose brother worked for Virgin at M/cr Airport, he sorted his family out, (6 tickets.) Both are fact. I do not have evidence myself but others state both the NHS and Uni students have been offered them. I believe this is true.

I paid full price. I did not have the choice of cheaper tickets because of my misguided loyalty.
