Plzen ticketing issue! Not a happy bunny

So having joined the cup schemes etc I thought I was getting a half decent deal. Have never slagged the club for pricing etc as I understand they have to make money however when I get in work this afternoon and find out that I could get tickets for £15 for Plzen and I have paid £28 I find it a little galling to say the least.
Surely this has to be brought up/highlighted or maybe it has.
It's not the price of £28 as I thpought that fine,it's the fact that any blue in the sports and social can buy a ticket for £15 which has annoyed me somewhat.
Years and years of loyalty apparently mean fuck all.
Just proves that we are seen as cash cows at times.

Why not price it at £15 for cup scheme members????

If you bought a meal in a restaurant which you were a regular in and someone at the next table had cut a 'two for one' voucher out and go the same meal for half price, you'd just shrug your shoulders.

It's effectively the same principle. The club wouldn't be doing this if it was sold out. They are doing what they can to expand the fan base by getting people in and interested. I know it irks a bit but that's the simple economics of it. I understand the point that if they lowered the price for everyone they'd get more in, but I suspect they've worked hard to get good gates and revenues for these games and been a bit disappointed with the uptake.

This game being a dead rubber doesn't help them of course, and neither does our prior failures.

I've a feeling that our passion for this trophy may be ignited following qualification. Imagine a two legger against Barca, or knocking man united out in the quarters over two legs.

I'm on the cup scheme and of this is the case I'm not happy one bit! Anyone who signs up for these cup schemes should get the best deals.. Next season I'll be thinking of not going on any cup schemes if this is happening!

Are we not paying for the privilege/convenience of having the same seat on our season tickets?
It is very important we fill the ground next Wednesday & I think that has a lot to do with the pricing and promotion of the tickets.
I do agree though, it takes the piss somewhat.
Let us know if you get a response. Next time I see Chris Nield I might bring it up :)

Got a call off paddy power today offering me 2 tickets to plzen game also got 2 for wigan in carling cup only bad thing is on every cup scheme and had already paid to go anyway.

think it's the last year I'll be signing up for the schemes as can see this being the norm for future seasons, see how much they can squeeze out of the regulars then shift the last few thousand via local works and uni at 15/20 quid etc...

56/58 quid behind the net for the Arsenal game is an absolute joke and city are really taking the piss these days with match day tickets...

if they end up charging 55quid plus for the CL knock outs that's me out..

If your a season ticket holder you have 1st dabs on your own seat anyway I just think city want to fill the ground and now we have qualified its going to be hard to do it...

And along comes the ridiculous argument. If I went to a restaurant and paid the stated price I would not moan about someone else having a 2 for one IF I had also had the chance of two for one. This is the opposite. I was asked to join a scheme and have the FULL amount deducted. Now that I am aware there are cheaper offers I am prevented from taking advantage purely because of my loyalty. I never had the chance of a two for one/reduced price ticket.
Second. How exactly does it expand the fan base ?
Someone who couldn't be arsed going to a 'dead rubber' as you put it for £25-£28 is not suddenly going to think 'Tell you what, I will buy a £45 ticket for another match. If City are lucky they will spend a fiver on an overpriced pie and give another fiver to a tout on a half and half.
Meanwhile I think twice about buying in bulk for next seasons rip off - sorry cup scheme.

Mos ow wasnt a dead rubber..people went in my works for 15 notes.
Next season i wont be in the schemes when i know i can join the sports and social and pay less...it stinks to high heaven

-- Wed Nov 20, 2013 9:07 pm --
