Plzen vs City post match thread

Lots of lurching from one massive overreaction to another I note.

We were impressive for 30 minutes in the second half, laboured for much of the rest of the game.

At the risk of a huge cliche, it really is a case of a tale of 2 Cities. At our best, we are a match for anyone. At other times, dire.

The big question is how does Pellegrini get us playing like the first 20 mins in the 2nd half? If he can do that, we would win everything in sight.

True they were not the best team, but they have a decent record in Europe and are no mugs, add to the fact they were at home, I actually thought that the first half we look nervous and tense but we played OK, but we relaxed in the 2nd and played like we can, in short it's a confidence thing for all of them, once they have got it they become unbeatable

I am sorry you and few others want to put a negative slant on it, it was a good victory away from home in Europe I am sure the majority of us are happy with the result

A performance which shows what confidence does for tempo and fluidity. We got the goal and our passing game became sublime. Lots of good things but some concerns which we need to work on.

Kolorov never found a city player with the ball for the third game on the bounce. The gap between him and clichy is huge.

And we still looked exposed in the first half in that problematic holding midfield area. There were gaps as yaya and fernandinho bombed on which a good team will exploit. And yet again we left attackers unmarked from set pieces.

But it was brilliant to watch us click in that second half. It's happened a few times now since the beginning of preseason. I've. Feeling this is going to be a keeganesque season.

Nasri was my mom,
I have to agree. He ran all day. Close 2nd and 3rd would probably be Navas and Yaya. That goal was stupendous!!!

Thought Navas looked poor to be honest. Won a few corners, but never looked like going anywhere with the ball. Nasri, Yaya, and Aguero were all great tonight.

Navas did really really well in patches. He beats his man and either gets a cross in or wins a corner.

Do for me that.

Fernandinho holding and Yaya pushing forward made the difference. Great second half.

Took our foot off the pedal a little after the third but that is completely understandable

No it isn't.

The group could be decided on goal difference.
It's head to head results before goal difference.

I don't know what makes you think I am not happy with the result? Did you think I wanted 10 nil? LOL

Of course I am happy with the result, I just think we should keep our feet on the ground instead of jumping to the conclusion that we are the next Barca like we did after Newcastle.

The fact is, they were a weak side by CL standards. We did what we needed to, but we were far from flawless in the first half.
