Plzen vs City post match thread

Had we been playing a Barca, Madrid, Chelsea or Utd we would have got battered , 3 goals just papered over the cracks and I fear those cracks will reappear on Sunday.......

OK, sure.

Lots of lurching from one massive overreaction to another I note.

We were impressive for 30 minutes in the second half, laboured for much of the rest of the game.

At the risk of a huge cliche, it really is a case of a tale of 2 Cities. At our best, we are a match for anyone. At other times, dire.

The big question is how does Pellegrini get us playing like the first 20 mins in the 2nd half? If he can do that, we would win everything in sight.

Kompany and Nastasic back together makes a helluva difference, Hart looked more confident too. Zabaleta and Navas not quite gelling right yet and Yaya and Dinho not quite ticking yet either. I hope he picks Negredo ahead of Edin sunday though.

the pattern is beginning to emerge, dino holding,ya ya ,,nasri dictating from deep ,Sergio coming short,i think that 60 year old guy in charge, might know a thing or two about football

Glad you agree.

Fantastic Result!
2nd half superb!
1st half a continuation of our recent woes.

The difference? Fuck knows.

I have to agree. He ran all day. Close 2nd and 3rd would probably be Navas and Yaya. That goal was stupendous!!!

Thought Navas looked poor to be honest. Won a few corners, but never looked like going anywhere with the ball. Nasri, Yaya, and Aquero were all great tonight.

I think the problem navas had was that he was receiving the ball off zabaletta around the halfway line and before he could run with it zabaletta had overlapped him. All he could do then was cut inside and not run up the wing.

More and more I am coming to the opinion that Zabaletta is not a great footballer. 100% commitment for sure. A half decent defender, if prone to positional error and getting skinned. But pretty useless going forward. I lost count of how many promising moves broke down when he got his hoof on it. Richards every time for me please.
