Point gained or two dropped?

I think in the scheme of things a point today may not suffice. Sure, you can't grumble with a point at Arsenal (particularly with our recent record there) but I think with the fixtures coming up we needed more. Ah well, it's still in our hands...

Rip up the form book Ric. This is going down to the wire.

Having said that we will probably beat Spurs and lose against Villa.

I loathe my pessimism, but I am sure we won't beat Spurs at home. I would bet my house on it. They alway beat us.

I realise that sounds a bit mard, but there are two teams I do no fancy playing one bit, and they are Everton and Spurs.

Sssshhhhhh!!!! We can beat Spurs because we play football like they do. And we will be up for it. Remember the ballet on ice and the 5/2 under Horton. Keep the Faith.

Most arsenal fans are of the opinion city game to draw and are wondering why you didnt come at us to win? We had nothing to play for, half our team out and probally lowest confidence we been in last couple years we were definatly there for the taking did you see how clueless we looked in attack so static.

Currently city have to win there last three games to get 4th imo because i can see spurs winning at least 2/3. If you'd lost today nothing would have really changed you still would have needed 3/3. However a win would have been massive for you and was a risk worth taking.

Anyways hopefully you beat the scum to 4th ther're a little bit to up themselves recently.

Correct. That would have been a point gained if it was in September but not with 3 games to go.

Your talking with it hanging out mate-stick to wanking in your boxroom playing football manager 2010
I watched the game in a City pub with 20 other blues and we all thought it wasn't a particularly good performance, with us giving possession away far too cheaply and the passing was far too sloppy.
Disagree. For the neutral there was very little goalmouth incident, but that was because both teams defended very well. City don't have the midfield personnel to go to Arsenal and take the game to them. Only way we can do that at moment is by playing 2 strikers and 2 wingers which we eventually did. Just when we were getting on top we were rocked by Given's injury

Last season we had Ireland in midfield, but would you play him after last weekend? He doesn't look like Superman at the moment.

In the circumstances I think we did very well

the value of the point is there

city DWW or WWD vs spurs WLW would now go down to goal difference, and if you think about it we're already one up, it'd be three if we beat spurs, so they'd have to win their other two matches by a margin three goals greater than we achieved in our one other victory, which means they'd need to win the two games with a margin of at least four goals, six if we'd beaten them by two goals.

and city WDW vs spurs DDW or WDD is now fourth in the bag, whereas before it would have been goal difference, they might have edged it by winning their other match by three goals or so. that was their get out of jail card, now it's gone, all of a sudden, spurs now genuinely can't afford to drop points next weekend, just like us. except we can, if we go on to beat them ;)

(phew, only took 4 edits to make that clear as mud)

... but I hope there is a psychological benefit from getting a positive result, our lot go into work having kept a clean sheet and got a point at a top four team, spurs conceded 3 in 45 and got nothing. spurs were thoroughly outplayed today and that's got to hurt, just a little bit.

tiny, tiny victories.

clutching at straws?

yep. also known as positive thinking.

We were playing at The Emirates and locked them out to perfection, I can't ever recall Arsenal being as inefective at home. We didn't do enough going forward true yes, however, you have to be careful when playing Arsenal on there own patch, because if you over attack them they are more than capable of catching you out. The back 4 were brilliant a top job by all of them.

Mancini got it spot on today, point gained.
