Pointon v Giggs

How did White miss that chance at the end?
Also that rag twat Tyldesley sounds gutted when we got the pen and scored

between the 5-1 and him leaving the club, i think white had a chance to win almost every derby for us. the 1-1 when brightwell scored, this one, the 0-0 at maine road, the 3-3 at maine road, a 1-1 at maine road when he went through one on one with schmeichel. the list goes on. i remember watching them as a kid and totting up all of the points he lost us in derbies. don't get me wrong, he won us loads as well and was my favourite player, but he did miss a few sitters in derbies.

Its weird that we get talked about as perennial derby losers but there was that purple patch where we more than held our own dont you think?

Overachieved even when you look at the players we had!

is it just my haddled brain or did curley worley go to pot after his England debut ?

carded or sent off is my recolection

Giggs wouldve gone for his tackle in todays day and age. Was very high and nearly broke flymo's ankle

The studs in the chest revenge was amazing.

Was in the united end with my old man.

Another thing i remember about that game was a blue jumping out of the united end and legging jumping into the away end.

Does anyone else remember Eric Nixon's sending off for an innocent misunderstanding with Ian Wright (Wright was at Palace at the time). All Nixon did was leave his forearm near to Wrights throat, purely accidental.

(and not something the likes of Dibble would do)

Eric Nixon, thats a name from yesteryear. Think he was in goal for my Maine Road Debut in 88.
