International managers are always a step down on club managers.
He’s wank mate. Nice guy but lucky as fuck to be where he is with the players he has and the opposition he’s faced. Saying he’s the second most successful coach England have had whilst factual, doesn’t tell the full story. This is why England will never win a tournament. Too easily pleased. Not you necessarily but large swathes of the population think getting deep into tournaments is good enough. I think we are going to blow any chance of a trophy whilst a lame manager stays in charge of one of the most talented groups of players we’ve ever had.
Other opinions are welcome but to not see the wasted opportunity this squad has seems neglectful in the extreme.

We were a penalty shoot out away from winning a tournament a couple of months ago.

I think he’ll step down after the World Cup anyway and I’ve got a feeling if Pep wins the Champions L, then he’ll take over as England boss after City for the following World Cup.

Wouldn’t that be something?

That would be my England wank fantasy.

Captain Jack and 5 other blues lifting an international trophy under his coaching.

I doubt it would happen as the FA would want too much control and that's why they love the waistcoat.

Sorry mate but you’re first sentence is exactly what I’m talking about.
Italy were there for the taking but he shit his pants and stuck to the safe method he’s always stuck with.
England could and should have beat Italy but were held back by a poor manager.
Guess we will agree to disagree.

Fair enough but I think Pep fucked the final too but that can happen.

Happy to agree to disagree, I just can’t be hard on a fella that’s got us to a semi and a final in consecutive tournaments.

Maybe someone will do better, let’s wait and see.

The backtracking from rags and Scousers who slag Pep would be brilliant.

Pep has plenty of credit in the bank as well as being the best manager on the planet so I’m not willing to accept the comparison though it’s one I’ve seen on here a few times.
Pep went out to win and sadly it didn’t work out. Southgate set up not to lose. I know which way I’d always go.
