Polar Bears are bad ass.

No bud, many apex predators have been documented as acting in a "killing frenzy" when prey is plentyful. One i can think of now is watching a Leopard go nuts jumping on gazelle in a camoflaged bushy area.
Something spooked them and the all bolted through this bush and the leopard was seen to kill at least 9 of them with no hope of ever eating it all.
It's a myth about foxes doing it for fun though. They fully intend on taking all chickens away but generally they are very skittish and easily spooked so the sight of a bunch of dead hens means something disturbed his lunch.

You've gotta love 'em just for that. It just ever so slightly helps to redress the balance of man over beast.stonerblue said:gordondaviesmoustache said:Am I correct in thinking that polar bears are the only animals (with one obvious exception) that kill purely for killing's sake?
They are the only mammal that will actively hunt down humans

I'd forgotten about them. They're right nasty fuckers.

Lancet Fluke said:My only real experience of polar bears is the one on the Fox's Glacier Mints advert and to be fair to him, he was pretty patient with that annoying fox.
That fox was a prick. I guess I was incorrect!!
Not so !!
Foxy was very clever and got himself into a new advert for Shephead Neame and Old Speckled Hen Beer !!
I would imagine the bop on the nose didn't really register with the bear, more the panic and chaos it was causing in the tent. I can't imagine the horror of waking up with one of those beasts in the tent with you, ripping into anything that moved. It's an awful story, but if you go into the beats lair, expect the beast to bite.Lancet Fluke said:I was half listening to the radio last night. Did I hear correctly that the one that got killed had decided to punch the bear on the nose and that is pretty much why the bear took his head off?
Hmm, bit of a myth that? Tigers in particular are known for it in certain areas.stonerblue said:gordondaviesmoustache said:Am I correct in thinking that polar bears are the only animals (with one obvious exception) that kill purely for killing's sake?
