Policing in America

The common theme in these videos is the guy being quizzed by police is always arguing and raising his voice, this gives them the opportunity to jump all over him.

Not saying it is right but the guy got agitated to fuck quite quickly, though his panic after they grab him is not very nice to hear.

That was my point from the off tbh he was still arguing and raising his voice, the prudent guy would have been a tad less argumentative to 6 cops with guns.

When I am pulled over by a cop for speeding, I don't yell at him in the vain hope he lets me off with a warning, get arsey with them and you get done and that is with no risk of being shot.

Though I have been manhandled in a corridor by a short arse copper who took a sly dig, he got one back but nothing came of it bar a night in the cell.

It is SUPER RARE for a Black cop to intervene from a group of White/ senior cops. They don't usually want to be the subject of abuse they see by cop. I have seen a Black cop break down in tears talking about their own experience of being 'handled' by White cops whilst wearing their UNIFORM, fearing they were going to be murdered that day.

If that's just one story, there are others, so what chance do ordinary citizens have?
Here or in the US?

It isn't a very nice place at the end of the day and I wouldn't thank you for a trip there tbh.

You know what? Even here the traits are similar but, obviously, not at the same intensity.

I don't know if it's 'siege mentality' of some sort to not intervene or fear of reprisal r fear of not backing the partner/ group, but it's concerning.

There's definitely a 'gang' mentality that takes hold of cops here or Stateside. As a whole it's 'them and/ or us'.

I've only experienced the gang mentality of our police whilst on Picket lines or attending a demo.

10 coppers trying to intimidate 2 pickets. But none of the fuckers were available to attend my colleague being assaulted last night.

New Arizona law makes it illegal to film within 8 feet of police.

8ft is probably a relatively safe distance to be away from a police officer who is struggling to detain a suspect in all fairness. Making it illegal to be closer than that on the other hand is a bit much and probably not based on the safety of the individual doing the filming.
