It’s not a convention, it is a EU regulation. As has been pointed out ad nauseam it doesn't apply anymore because we exited the European Union and didn't remain party to the agreement.

There is no country that is part of Dublin, that doesn't have a freedom of movement agreement with the EU.

You can't have one without the other.

I was just thinking of the period Johnson is likely to be PM - all bets are off beyond that as we don't know who they would replace him with - worryingly this could be their high water mark!!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m looking forward to getting the old measures back and being able to order a pint of beer. The EU had a lot to answer for but stopping an Englishman ordering a pint tipped me over the edge…..

Also, glad we’re getting the crown back on the glasses and getting rid of that CE mark. It means we can buy the cheapest smoke detectors, CO2 detectors and fire alarms without the added expense of knowing they’re safe and fit for purpose. What with that and rivers and the sea full of shit, we will soon be in ‘never had it so good’ territory..

We need to change the speed limit and motorway distance signs back to miles rather than dividing by 1.6 in our heads.
