Well, one's said "major" and another has said "sizeable", so I'd be interested in how they're defined. But I'll happily bow to those who have done what they call sizeable.

I fail to see how any Brexit-related work stream could be protected from the political environment.

Let's face it, most change management begins with a change that someone has already decided ought to happen, and they won't take kindly to any consultation that fails to agree that it's worth doing, and most end with a change that fails to deliver the expected outcome. Congratulations if your sizeable programmes have been different.

Take the piss all you like mate. its Not just the budget which have run into 100s £millions, but the consequences if things go wrong which feature numbers many times that. You learn that belt and braces is probably not a bad ethos. workstreams communicate through project structures. A number of them will have appointed individuals or teams to speak to external (to the programme) stakeholders. When you have many 1000s of individuals working, you need a controlled environment, not a free for all.

Excellent news; obesity is costing the NHS billions every year, a reduction in portions of unhealthy foods like Percy Pig sweets can only be a good thing. BREXIT just keeps on giving.

Not being facetious but do you reckon the Brexit change program falls into the bracket of the other 3 put of 10.
I know it’s nothing you were involved in, just looking for your opinion.
Just briefly, I know your opinion of pre 2019 is different to after, but do you think that level of planning was ever done.

Well, I don't know the answer (and I presume you don't) - I assume it was always possible to export shellfish before we joined the EEC but it's totally irrelevant. Within the EU, shellfish exports have vastly increased - because of the single market - and your Brexit may kill off parts of the UK's fishing industry. YOUR Brexit.

Watching 4th in the BBC2 Cornwall A Fishing Life series - not many young fishermen involved (this episode about fishing out of coves). One 71-year-old with a small boat who voted Remain - because of the export market - but dual-edged comment about EU policy (good for conserving stocks, bad for letting French boats catch more than locals). Two crew - Ecuadorian and Bulgarian (18 years here; and thinks UK leaving the EU would be good - he feels British but is going back to Bulgaria). The catch is couriered to sushi restaurants in London (having shown the customer pictures of the fish). And realistic about the pay needed to attract Brits to work on boats.

Then another who took the government funds to scrap his boat... (I didn't quite follow how his quota had been worked out to make it not viable.)

Biggest question seems to be where the mackerel have gone...* And too many crabs to be good for other fish.

Twitter used to tell "high end" customers in Surrey (not Wokingham) that the lobsters will be in their local fish shop first thing in the morning.

* One guy reckons they've just gone from British waters to Greenland because of global warming, others blaming big trawlers.

Taking the piss? I wasn't taking the piss. I'm just very sceptical about most aspects of management speak, "change management" included, when - from what I can see - most structural change doesn't deliver the looked-for outcomes.
