Political relations between UK-EU

So - that thrashes my suspicion the JO'B was a member of BM - we have had it on here for at least 3 years;-)

BTW - that was meant as a level of good natured banter - as I feel people need to lighten up
I wonder if the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation letter to the PM is good natured banter.

Must admit I’m struggling to grasp why you bother with this thread now? Most sane people have realised the pointlessness and futility of continuing to engage with it. Surely you’ve got better things to do? ;)

Now that it’s becoming clear that Brexit is turning out to be an utter shambles there’s only a few Brexiteers left who are in denial. The rest have disappeared now they’ve realised they fucked up.

He’s here to enjoy the videos and tell the fisher folk how they don’t understand the wonderful deal we just signed.

Well that is a good question and - TBF - as the thread reduces to the echo chamber of only the 3 or 4 usual suspects - I have been asking myself that recently

There has been some recent merit in explaining some 'facts of life' to those interested in the truth about how major programmes are managed and I did that to address the nonsense that pours out from the amigos.

And I guess that explains it really - whilst I find it increasingly tedious as the same old same old few look to reach new heights in 'loser gloating' - I do feel a sense of responsibility to address the risk that other posters fall prey to the deceit.

I guess - it is because I think: Why should people be given a free run to post outright nonsense and deceive others without being challenged?

But - it is increasingly half-hearted I accept and - as normal people leave thread - I am losing the will to make the effort.
I admire your indefatigability ;)

Trade takes the easiest route to markets.

‘Up to 40% of fish sold at a Danish auction so far this year are believed to have come from Scottish boats circumventing UK disruption. Industry figures fear it might be the start of a permanent shift, not just a temporary work around’

I'm not often wrong but I'm right again (though I was thinking Holland for English fishermen rather than Denmark for the Scottish fleet). It would still mean lost jobs in the UK (processing and transport.)

(My post, early December in the previous thread) Now tell us what "invest in fishing" means. Buy Dutch boats (already registered in the UK) and employ their redundant Dutch crews, or build new (abroad or in the UK with state aid?) and use Filipino crews? Where would we land the herring? East coast ports then take them by road to Holland or land the catch in Dutch ports where all the redundant Dutch fishermen live?

But does this mean Danish ports are looking to keep the trade and turning a blind eye to the requirements for imports from a non-EU country?

I can imagine your manic laughter at Rees-Mogg's "happier British fish" insanity.

As I've suggested before, you could start a pro-Brexit thread where you can post all the good news "going forward" ©. On here, you just seem to be looking back. Frankly, the NI backstop now looks quite attractive. (No, you needn't bother saying, condescendingly, that I don't understand...)
