Political relations between UK-EU

My apologies for having the temerity to hold personal views that are contrary to the approved narrative for the subject of Brexit on here.

I especially regret having been so rude as to have caused affront to the the sensitivities of some posters by actually expressing those views openly and without sufficient censoring - and some times even without an accompanying content warning.

I have, for a considerable time, recognised and accepted the rights of some posters to be able to express what they like - how and when they like, whilst I should 'know my place' and seek to conform;-)
Apology accepted.

Quite right too. Apology accepted. ;-)

Yay!, the far left remarks once again.

I do find it strange that people so readily dismiss the left whilst at the same time are happy to embrace extreme right wing economics because it offers the occasional small sop to the working class. It is like dogs waiting for crumbs from his master's table.

Everyday we see the disintegration of the UK caused by the effects of these economic policies, everyday we see the harm done to the great institutions of the UK from these extreme economic policies and everyday we see inequality rise because of these extreme economic policies

Yet you still deride the left, the people who want to call a halt on these extreme economic policies.

You call fairness and decency "Marxist fantasy" this is where the Pro-Eu fanatics have taken us, they are happy to bow to the mammon of Neo-liberalism as long as the fantasy of free movement of people and goods remain in place, they are happy to subjugate themselves to continental dominion as long as the occasional scrap from the Capitalist's table is thrown in their direction.

My god man, what happened to the people of the UK when they so readily defer to RW domination of their lives and dismiss the left as Marxists. It is almost the anti-leftist Trumpian rhetoric we have seen used against Antifa.

The myopia of the Pro-EU fanatics has left them at the mercy of the Libertarian right and the little blue flag waving middles classes will not be the ones to suffer most, it won't be the Social Liberals armed with their litany of self satisfactory noble causes that will suffer most, it will be the working class kids on council estates, it will be homeless, the starving and the poor who suffer most and you dismiss the likes of me as a Marxist Fantasist.

If I was a crass controversialist I would say "you deserve everything your myopia brings you" but as I am not I will continue to try and convince you there is a different path, a more worthy path, a more equal path and a path away from the future you will be living because Brexit has given the UK the opportunity to move away from RW extreme economics and towards a Democratic Socialist future.
As I said, most Labour voters and Labour members wanted to Remain.

Don't blame me for facts.

Meanwhile, we have Tories openly advocating rolling back workers' rights (now possible after Brexit - one reason why most people of the left think leaving was daft), and it's already begun, with one lot of heroes.

Unite officer for London buses John Murphy said: “Bus workers are coming under attack on pay and conditions from bus operators throughout London. As well as insulting pay offers (which are real terms cuts) there is the proposal to roll out remote sign on, tear up contracts with guaranteed hours and replace them with zero hour contracts."

I see that EU as well as British border officials will be checking passports if we fly direct to Gibraltar. Another bit of sovereignty given away as part of a project supposedly to recover sovereignty. You couldn’t make it up.

I dislike borders so the removal of physical barriers on this one and greater freedom of movement for people and the benefits that brings can only be celebrated.

In this instance Brexit abolished a barrier so for once an actual Brexit benefit.

Agreed but the irony of having the EU check passports when travelling from the UK to a UK overseas territory is probably lost on some of the Brexiteers.

as was said all along - the biggest losers under Brexit will be its poorest most ardent supporters
