You grow food expecting it to be usef, if no one is around to take it where it needs to be, it spoils?
Food takes quite a long time to grow, I assume farmers expected people to be able to figure out you might need a way of transporting food at some point. Obviously they thought too much of our politiciansThat food doesn't grow itself .......... it costs...... so if that happens you know what you do? You don't grow the food in the first place thus compounding shortages - all predicted but labelled Project Fear.

'Project Fear was Project Delusion!' Brexit 'EXCEEDS' expectation
BREXIT has been an "unalloyed success" which has "exceeded expectations" and set the country up for decades of growth and innovation, business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng has said.www.express.co.uk
The Express is nothing more than a comic these days with stories more far fetched than the Beano. Should only be read for a laugh and really only caters for the more senile of the gammon population. Is Kwarteng on strong meds or something?

Not really. Some growers planted less as they didn't know if they could (a) get it picked or (b) easily export it to the EU. Not many thought UK deliveries might be a problem; that was confined to the logistics industry, who did warn the government.Food takes quite a long time to grow, I assume farmers expected people to be able to figure out you might need a way of transporting food at some point. How thick is the readership? It's the Express we're talking about so I'll start the bidding at "as thick as a whale sandwich".How thick is the readership?
'It comes as a report by the Independent Business Network (IBN) chaired by former Brexit Party MEP John Longworth has concluded that the Remainer’s “Project Fear has proven to be Project Delusion”.'
As opposed to the "biased business network" not chaired by a Brexit liar.
Express can't even get an apostrophe in the right place.

Good stuff in the FT today re Brexit impact on trade.
‘So the IOD survey 651 members. Of those that traded with the EU, only 6 per cent said their trade with the bloc had increased after EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement came into force. 31 per cent said it had decreased.
Amother area that emerged was business concerns about what happens when UK border controls start to come into force in October - remember, Brexit is currently a one way street. When EU companies face same hassles trading with UK, there are fears that will suppliers/turnover.’
(Personally I don’t see the Govt introducing controls in October).
‘We’re already seeing with UK businesses that a lot are setting up in EU, splitting supply chains so they don't hub/distro out of UK into Europe - like JD Sports has.
Finally, where business IS carrying on -- and the majority does despite the hit -- it's slower, more expensive and traders are having to suck up hits to margins because they can't pass on costs when EU competitors inside single market don't have to.‘
By any metric a trade deal that has this negative effect on trade is a failure. We just have to pretend the opposite.
