Fascinating stuff on Theresa May and Davis from Hammond.
Belatedly, I wonder if that has united Remainers and Leavers, in that May hadn't a clue.
But I bet most Leavers on here loved "Brexit means Brexit".

mooted....It’s hard to say. We don’t really know what brexit may have cost the UK (even harder with Covid in the mix). But don’t sniff at the CPTPP, the original TPP was estimated to be worth $125bn to Japan’s economy by 2030 and in terms of GDP with the UK joining the CPTPP is $2-3trn larger than the EU.
There are challenges to the UK joining not least that it may be in direct conflict with the brexit deal in some areas but look it’s interesting and it gives us a voice in APAC region. China is muted to be considering joining (although some of the rules make this complex) and possibly the US may rejoin if Biden can convince them.

The bit I look forward to is the UK's agreement that we will "fully comply with high-standard obligations".

Latest "This fishing life" is awful with crabbers out of Padstow realising what Brexit in a lockdown means. Irish shellfish boom? (Perhaps with Cornish crews as guest workers...)There will be a lot of happy shellfish that will die of old age with their families rather than being lobbed into a pan of boiling water or chucked on to a hot plate.
Every cloud...

What? And with all due respect right back at you, you’ve misunderstood the motive behind my comments and taken a selective part of them to make your point.
I think it’s a reasonable question to ask whether joining the Pacific club will give us as much economic benefit as leaving the EU takes away. Convince me that it isn’t window dressing
Suit yourself, others have given more constructive responsesWhat?
"Convince me that it isn’t window dressing"
Why would I give a single fuck regarding making that effort
