Cut down on red tape..

It would increase it and let’s say for a second, we had a European army and we said they could go into Ukraine to defend, it would be made up of troops from nuclear armed countries who will never give them up so we are right back to square one in this instance.

I’m not saying it will never happen but we don’t need that and NATO.

Whilst I understand your reasoning here, I never really understood why having an EU army was such a big deal in the referendum debate.

Still don’t, to be honest.

Purely because we essentially already have it in NATO with the addition of the US.

It’s either or but if it’s or, my guess is we would then probably lose the US and that makes it seriously weaker against an ever growing threat from the East.

Nuclear countries like ourselves and France would never put our nukes under someone else’s control either imo.

Thanks. Kind of what I thought and still don’t think it’s that big a deal either way.

Corbyn and Abbott could have also condemned him but here we are in 2022 with the far left and far right so up their own arses and disillusioned with mainstream politics that they will even side with a war criminal like Putin.

They can all fuck off and yes, they are all now irrelevant politically, it still fucks me off we hear from them on such important matters.

Dangerous is what they all are.

Abbott said this just a few days ago…

“Claims that Russia is the aggressor should be treated sceptically. The destabilisation in the entire region comes from the continued eastward expansion of NATO.”

Corbyn told a Stop the war conference that an end to NATO expansion had to happen.

Idiots are fucking idiots, regardless of what side they are on!

I seem to recall a woman phoning the James O’Brien show saying that she was going to vote leave purely on the grounds that we were going to be forced into an EU army, and that there would be conscription and she didn’t want her son to be forced to join.
The kind of lies and stupidity that can easily be fact-checked, which was just accepted as a valid reason to f*ck the country up.

I recall that - she seemed to think that it would be done and dusted about a fortnight after a vote to Remain had been won and by mid June her lad would have been on manoeuvres in France or Poland - I bet the little fucker was only about 6 at the time too

Surely joining an EU army would lessen the chances of conscription given that there would be a defined number of soldiers needed taken from a large pool of EU nations…

This is an example of why throwing baseless shite around works.

but they weren't thick and they knew what they were voting for..............

This afternoon 27 EU states are holding a meeting to decide what to do about Ukraine - we aren't there because we successfully uninvited ourselves - biggest Brexit win I have seen so far tbh

Ukraine only has 45m people though. We’ve nearly 70m. There’s no way Putin could disregard such an influential, big country on the world map.

We can’t invoke proper sanctions against Russia as our politicians have too many Russians as friends and donors.

We can threaten though.

With bluster.

There are more of us but we have a smaller armed force to call upon.....ahem....... we are back to hoping the Channel is sufficient a barrier were it to come to that. That btw is the barrier that we cannot stop migrants crossing in dinghies

We do have our trump card.

Farage with a microphone on the edge of the white cliffs of Dover shouting “go home”
